You don't play for Barcelona and get public admiration from players like Messi, Suarez, and UCL-winning managers such as Tuchel & Klopp unless you're world-class. That performance against England in itself was world-class.
The problem with Dembele is he's playing for a club that doesn't play to his strengths and he hasn't had a sufficient consistent run of games over the last 2-3 years to develop more and rebuild his confidence.
If I were Liverpool, I'd try really hard to buy Dembele and Mbappe this summer. With Mbappe they could try swapping him for Salah + cash. Otherwise, they should buy Martinez or Haaland (next summer). Preferably Haaland but that would be mentally hard because of competition from Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barca, and Man Utd.

@@neon5433 The 2017 match wasn't destroyed either, so the title of the video is misleading. It should say something like "Mbappe and Dembele masterclass against England" or something. I think the World Cup match was pretty much 50/50; England had more of the ball and a higher number of chances, but France had more clear cut chances and took advantage of them. In matches like that there is always a luck factor, and on that particular day France had it; on another day it could have gone England's way. Also England tend to get nervous in big moments which costs them trophies; perhaps euro 2024 will be the one that finally breaks the curse.
