@LittleMixLuvr yea, but it's like a re-imagining of Smash. Basically it's smash done differently, I actually like it more than the show. Season 2 got sort of lost in the sauce while the broadway play focuses solely on bombshells production

Katherine is wonderfully talented. Obviously. But when it comes to Marilyn, Ivy just has IT. This version is brilliant on every level. The vocals, the acting, the emotional depth, it has it all.

Why is the video of Season 2 Episode 9 "The Parents" scene with Krysta singing "Reach For Me" not available on youtube like all the other songs?
I feel like its a missed opportunity that they did not separate Norma Jean and Marilyn in two parts like they did in that movie with Ashley Judd and Mira Sorvino. It was a battle for MM her entire life to balance the two. Which is i think what Smash was trying to emulate with season 1. Both of them being valid choice just for 2 different visions.

To all the commenters obsessed with their opinions that Megan performed better than Katherine...quit dwelling on the negative. Praise Megan and feel free to leave Katherine out of it. It's tacky and petty. But maybe that's how you were raised...

Not the same. Good. But not as Good as Katherine's version. So Grateful she was the first to sing don't forget me. Will never forget it.
Katherine McPhee usually stops acting when she sings, which automatically makes Hilty's version better imo. Her actual musical theater chops really shine through. Ironically the exception is that McPhee has fantastic singing/acting chemistry with Hilty, which makes it really unfortunate that the plot of the show didn't have them becoming co-leads in a musical.

@@Positivekitten The show as a whole doesn't really have a bearing on the vibe of this one particular song, which I agree with AYRT, and actually I've always thought of Don't Forget Me as the "Disney Princess Marilyn Monroe song." I still love to watch Megan Hilty's performance of it here though.
