audio only, from their concert at madison square gardens (aka The Song Remains the Same). I wish this made the movie, but oh well. enjoy people -psuzep
+1FineYoungCannibal This is one of the few cases where I've liked the live version better. This blows the studio version off Led Zeppelin III away - way more heavy and rockin.
Same thing for me, bro. That time I countend minutes at school to run at home and key close my room's door and wear my headphones with this live album.
Jones & Bonham had calisthenic chops in 1973 and were an exhilarating rhythm section. Two young musicians tearing shit up for no other reason than it's fun to tear shit up. They play this version of Celebration Day with great abandon, making death-defying leaps from one dizzy rhythmic height to another for the entire song, going especially apeshit while Page is soloing. Two years earlier the band performed an even better version of this song on the left coast [Berkeley-Sept 1971].
This version of this song is the reason I even began listening to Zeppelin...literally changed my life
The solo at the end is what made me learn electric guitar.
Better than the album/studio recording.

Agreed
His tone on this is amazing.
not only should this song have made the movie, it should have been highlighted; page's greatest riff ever!!!
Bless Led Zeppelin I love Celebration Day. Mikael
Jonesy and Bonham in this tune... no wonder everyone thought the band was from the other side.
I remember listening to this tune in high school...being stoned out of my fucking head............Who's with me?!??!

Rush Ron -- just as many arguments for and against drugs. let your mind be fresh with good thoughts and everything will be amazing, right?
