    Thank you! I had Invisalign for the lower teeth beforehand. Now I have my upper and I got these chewies and this video helped me on how to use the chewies.

    I regret not wearing my retainers, hurts so bad trying to put them back on.

    I have seen 3 videos describing how to use the chewies and I have gotten 3 different answers 😂. This one is completely different from the previous two. The first two had same methodology but different timing.

      Thanks for the message. This video is a few years old and we really aren't prescribing Chewies much these days. As long as patients wear their aligners all the time, and the treatment plan is designed properly by the orthodontist, we haven't found much of a need for Chewies. Good luck!

    You’re saying to do this while the aligners are on... how does the aligned actually move if it’s all molded plastic?

    • @GluckOrthodontics
      @GluckOrthodontics  Před 3 lety +2

      Great question. The aligner is made out of a flexible plastic. It doesn’t “move” per se, rather the teeth move as the aligners change shape from one to the next.

      Gluck Orthodontics no I’m talking about the bight down, bight down on the thingy. How is that making it fit better if they’re molded.

      @@johnmimist Great question. As patients change their aligners from one to the next, there may be some "lag" in the actual tooth movement. If patients aren't wearing there aligners enough, that may also cause a lag in the movement as well. Using the Chewies provides more force to engage the aligner over the teeth.

      Apparently, it "seats" them. That is, it reduces and eliminates the vertical air gaps between the aligners and the tooth surfaces, which are especially prevalent when changing from one set of aligners to the next set in the sequence.

    I have a question that I couldn't find an answer to anywhere: how do you clean the chewies?

    • @GluckOrthodontics
      @GluckOrthodontics  Před 2 lety +1

      Great question. Soap and water should work for cleaning them!
