    Great bag, I have the 35 L version which looks pretty small when you don’t need the whole 35L . It carry’s easy on my back and everything inside it stays dry when riding on my motorcycle in heavy rain. Things I don’t like are the buckles, they feel low quality and the part of the buckle’s that snap into the other is to wide what makes it less easy to connect them blindly. If not the whole 35 L is in use those inside pockets on the side are pretty big and in the way. Would buy again when broken or stolen, would even buy a bigger size then 45L if available.

    Maybe a weird question but google didn't give me an answer so I'll try here :D since it's black, how much heat does it absorb? Does it feel hot to the touch in direct sunlight for example?

    Thanks for your review! Question: How about packing a Laptop inside? I would be afraid that it might bend or get too much pressure, when its packed near your back, right under the zipper !?

      Yeh defo. Its got lots of straps round it to help you reduce the overall size to whatever works for you. You can makenit thinner AND less tall

      hi, thanks very much for your review. I'm also considering this bag (maybe the 35L version) and looking for info on the bladder suspension system.
      Doesn't look like there is one apart from Ortlieb custom bladder... I already have one, so I'm not considering buying a new bladder.
      @nathansmith-fl2xg did you buy this bag and did you find a way to suspend any bladder?
      Cheers :)

  • @pstolee
    @pstolee Před 3 lety +1

    You've sold me. Can you remove the carrying straps/belt ?? In other words , can you remove the backpacking features. The reason is that I want to use this as a duffle bag while bikepacking and then convert it to a backpack when I leave the bike behind and go hiking.

    • @airlandandseablogchannel4179
      @airlandandseablogchannel4179  Před 3 lety

      I'll take a look this evening and report back. I dont think you can remove them but you can tidy them up out the way to turn it in to a kind of 'grip bag'

      So I took a good look. A lot of the straps can be unthreaded so you could massively strip this bag down to a grip bag but be aware I would guess it might take 10 mins or more the first time to do it and you might need to play around with the best way to do it and what's worth removing and what can be stashed tightly out of the way. Hope that helps

    Avoid this overpriced bag. The zipper’s rails came apart under minimal stress and due to its chunky size, likely impossible to fix.

    • @roterkakadu
      @roterkakadu Před 3 lety +7

      Avoid Oscars advice. He provides anecdotal evidence and suggests this allows for generalization, likely impossible to fix.

    • @ojsbklyn
      @ojsbklyn Před 3 lety

      @@roterkakaduWhat exactly do reviews provide other than anecdotal evidence? Do you expect a consumer to provide a years-long longitudinal study carried out with multiple examples of the same bag?
      As I mentioned, the specific zipper failure my bag experienced is probably impossible to fix unless you replace the entire mechanism. After about an hour I gave up trying to repair it. Given the bag's expected waterproof use, a failure of this kind is particularly disappointing.

    • @roterkakadu
      @roterkakadu Před 3 lety +2

      @@ojsbklyn that's why you shouldn't generalize so broadly, also in everyday communication. you don't have the data or experience to back your claim. your bag failed, and that's all you can bring in to this conversation. the advice part is the bs I called out to be bs.

      On other Ortlieb products, the warranty is great. Likely the same here. I've been really happy with their bike bag products.

      My one holds up great and i already used the hell out of it also trying to close it with way too much stuff in it which if at all only resuted in the zipper catching somethibg and depending in its strengt ripping it ( like a Plastik bag vor example wont rip a Shirt or similar stuff if you are carefully opening it up again) so i cant confirm a General weakness of the zipper butzi can confirm with another orliev Produkt that the warrenty ist insanly good sometimes even after the 5years but that depends in the case
