500 Hours, and lunch in Half Moon Bay

- As I mentioned in my previous video, I was approaching a milestone in my flying career.
I started my flight training in July 2017, This weekend I crossed the 500 hours total time.
For this flight, I went to the airport without much of a plan except to turn money into noise and capture some video crossing the 500 hour mark.
But when I got there, a couple of my neighbors had their planes out and were planning on going somewhere, so I decided to tag along.
As you may have heard in the intro hook, unfortunately the audio on the camera didn't work out and was all blown out.
We were heading to Half Moon Bay for lunch, and I had my buddy from "For the love of Flight" along for the ride, he acted as Safety pilot so I could shoot some approaches.
Once again I arrived just in time for the airport restaurant to close, so we taxied down to the south end and walked out to Barbara's Fishtrap for some deep fried goodness.
After that, we flew down to Watsonville, to hang out for a few, then head back into the central valley where it was over 100.
We shot an approach into Modesto, and another back home into Tracy.
It has been 5 years to get to this point, and I've had my share of emergencies and aircraft maintenance issues.
I bought the plane just 2 years ago in 2020 and it sat on the ground 11 of those 24 months, but it feels so good to have it dialed in now.
Great account of your experiences. I fly a Stinson 108-2 out of Watsonville since '84. Lotsa fun keeping the Franklin engine happy. Used to visit HAF in til ADSB.
Nice one. Love the blinkers btw. Very stylish lol
Congratulations Ed!
Edward, congratulations on 500 hours. The Centurian seems to be running well now, I'm glad to hear that. I'm getting the feeling that particular restaurant must hear you coming or something and decides to close. They must not like you or something. I hope they read/watch your videos and decide they need to stay open later! LOL
Again, good job, congrats!
Cool 500 hours! Congratulations! I remember that day for me 46 years ago! 😁🛫
I'm happy to see the 210 running great again.
Mezzaluna's right outside the airport gate is good too.
Congrats 👏
Congrats on such a huge milestone. I've recently crossed 110 hrs. Started last April. Still such a long way to go and learning more every time I fly. Just waiting on my AP to re-open so I can start my Instrument training.
I've enjoyed your videos. So glad your plane is squared away now. Learned so much from watching you. Thank you.
Congratulations Ed!! What a journey and thank you for taking us along.
Congrats on achieving the milestone! Would be interesting to hear the expense aspect of your 24 month in aviation.
👍👍👍👍👍👍🙏🛩
