Pelican lake was awesome! We only got to fish a small portion of the lake, so I would love to go back and fish the rest of it. This is a great multi-species lake. I believe we caught six different species without even trying to. If you get the chance to fish Pelican, I highly recommend it.

I've been fortunate enough in my life to grow up a few miles from pelican and local lakes. There is a phenomenal fishery to explore if you have time. Once you figure out the crappies and big gills it's hard to fish it for rough fish(walleyes).lol
I try to fish a new lake every time I go fishing, but Pelican is one that I would like to go back to. I only had one day to explore it, and felt like I barely touched it. There were so many good spots to fish, I think I could spend a week there. Thanks for all the info.
@@GoMidwestFishing oh absolutely. Like I've said I spent a lot of time there for many many years and every time I go out I still learn a new spot. I try not to fish "yesterday" if I can help it. If you ever get back up this way check out rat root lake about 30mins north of crane. Bring crappie gear, and you'll thank me later 🤫
Great video! I'm taking my sons to this lake in June for the first time. We got a cabin on an island and I'm hoping the fishing is good for us
I normally don't fish the same lake twice, but I really want to go back to Pelican. We barely covered this lake. It is huge and it seems like every spot on this lake is good fishing. You're going to love it!

Is that a Pflueger President you're using? They are great reels for the price. I think the red under the skin is hemorrhaging from stress. Pete Maina talks about it a lot with muskies.
Why yes it is a Pflueger. The best spinning reel out there in my opinion. I just bought another one. Hoping to replace all my reels with Pfluegers. Thanks for the info about the hemorrhaging. Your the first person to mention a reason. I want to look into that.

At the 2:50 mark I almost bought that island and cabin 2years ago until I discovered there was an illegal drain field on it that I'd be liable to remove and pay fines on.
Hi Eduffy. That would have been so cool to own an island out there. Too bad it didn't work out. I'm sure getting a proper drain field on a little island would have been a big project.
@@GoMidwestFishing pretty much reduced to a composting toilet on an island that puny. It's like 100x60ft

Those spinners really work well on the lake....A great multi species slam and a lake with so many places to try!!
I've been having good luck with inline spinners this year. They seem to catch everything.
The underwater footage is so fun! I feel like I'm actually underwater seeing all that stuff! 😄

I use a Spydro and a gopro. The Spydro connects to your fishing line. The gopro I just drop over the side attached to a aqua-vu. Thanks for the comment!

Wow great video guys. I've driving by Pelican many times but never fished it before. Looks like a fantastic lake. Love all the rock structure. Wish I had that near me. As usual love the underwater footage.
Got some good healthy fish out there my friend. Love the shots you get underwater and the maps you show. You make it so easy to see. Definitely got some good some good size bluegills.

When I get home its like opening a present. I never know what I'm going to get. I did catch that one pike, but as for all the rest, I had no idea they were even there.
