- In this video I'm going to take you through step by step exactly how I installed insulation, sub floor, and fake wood waterproof vinyl flooring in the Ford Transit Van. This method worked perfect and the best part is there was no need to drill any holes in the floor. I am extremely happy with how the floor turned out and would not change a thing with it so far!!
After watching several ways tondo this this looks like the best! Thanks.
Fantastically informative, easy to follow 'HOW TO" ! Thankyou so much! Can't wait to start and no experience whatsoever! You have gven me confdence to DIY my floor in my campervan!
Great video! I'll be doing this with our build over the next couple days. Your video really helped me figure out some of how I want to do ours. Your bed platform is pretty sweet too, looks rock solid. :D
Fantastic q
Awesome video thanks for sharing
Thank you for the very informative video!
Amazing man well done
Haha, yea when I did my flooring in my house I just ditched the spacer. If you put trim around it, doesn't really matter. Quarter round trim would really make it look slick.
Yeah that spacer didn’t work for me lol... Quarter round trim is a good idea, may do trim once I get the walls put up.
This was the way I wanted to do it. My only change was to put 1/4 inch plywood on the bottom. My concern in all of it is condensation and mold. I have no idea if that is an issue. If I put the wood against the floor then possibly, but with your method no as long as it didn't break down. This was a couple years ago. How has it held up?
Do you have more videos of your van build?
came out great! I just installed my subfloor in my transit as well! Cheers and thank you for the video! On the cargo step did you just pull up and it snapped out of place? I was trying to remove mine to add some plywood to the cargo step backing and it seemed like a lot of force to pull up on haha just wanting to double check before I snap it off and have to order a new one!
greetings from texas!
I could be wrong because I did it a while ago but I’m pretty sure that The cargo step on the side there is a couple of caps you pop off with a knife or a flathead that’s reveal bolts underneath you have to undo than it should lift right out. Good luck!
@@bbMTB that makes sense cuz there are some that resemble caps. I'll give it another crack this evening. thank you!
Do you also have video how you installed those 2x4 and what size screws did you use
I just bought a 2016 SWB Transit van with the factory base hard plastic floor. There is no real need to cover this floor with another floor is there?
Apart from aesthetics; why should I cover it? Suggestions?
How’s that 3M 90 been holding up long term? Has it let go at all?
Why did u door floor now I thought u do it last?
Hey, thanks for the video! This looks like a great way to do the floor. How is it working for you a couple months on? Are you finding the floor is compressing because of the r-board being foam? My step dad is concerned it will compress and sag. I took a small piece of r board and plywood and stood on it and heard or felt no compressing... I think it will be fine but wanted to know how you felt about it now.
I have noticed no flexing or compressing using the pink xps boards, seem to work great and don’t have any complaints. I would do the same if I were building another van.... Before I decided to go with xps I tried a test with the poly iso boards that I used for the wall, and those did not feel as sturdy as the xps
does it matter if you do the walls first b4 the floors?
