  • Today marks the final day for South Africans living abroad to cast their votes for the general elections all across the world. The Ground Work Collective, an initiative by Former DA MP Mbali Ntuli, has been part of the Independent Election Observer mission at various polling stations across the world. Election observers play a critical role in every election and contribute to whether an election can be declared free and fair.
Ground Work Collective based in the UK Hayley Reichert explains.

ANC had over 10m votes in 2019 to achieve 57%. South Africans living in the U.K. don’t even amount to 300k including those who can’t vote.

@@khaltsharivist365 That's actually a huge problem. We have around 43 million people over 18 who are entitled to vote. Only half registered to vote in 2024 election. So 10 million votes for the ANC in the last election is not even representative of a majority and doesn't represent the will of the people. 10 million votes for the ANC only represents a quarter of adults in South Africa.

South African's care about their country, even when they are far away, and even when their government doesn't.

@@nomadicleopard Rubbish, I am a South African living in the UK working for a care home, we offer sponsorship programs to a lot of people applying from African countries, we get at least 40 job applications a week, mostly from RSA, Zimbabwean and Nigerian women, hardly any men, and we help them come over to set them up for a better life for themselves, so please do your research first! That's the problem with SA, it was supposed to be the Rainbow nation, it lost the plot, and the world has already moved on boet, with or without you. The racist victim mentality rhetoric, is getting extremely boring now, get with the programme ffs.
