- A detailed medley exploring (some of) Howard Shore's many themes of The Lord of the Rings.
Some themes may have names you're not familiar with! I took the themes and their titles from Doug Adams' book The Music of The Lord of the Rings Films. I highly recommend the book if you are a fan of the scores. Similarly, @monoverantus has a detailed analysis of Every. Single. Song. from The Lord of the Rings. Truly incredible work. I use the actual titles that Doug Adams or Howard Shore labeled the motifs. I included a more common name for themes that aren't as well known by their motif's name (for example, The History of the Ring is the One Ring's theme).

I’ve never seen such a good medley. It’s actually playable for someone that doesn’t take classes or anything. Thank you! May I recommend doing the full theme of Gollum? Love your work!
I’ve never had any sort of lessons or training-just years of figuring it out myself so I’ve often found sometimes playing something simpler is better! Glad you liked it! Gollum’s theme is really good and I’d love to do an extended form of that.

My son listened to this song while he was being lectured with his class at sinagua school
You started on my favorite track. I can’t explain how, but that song perfectly captures the dark mysticism of the elves. Their eerie immortality, and the latent power they possess. Genius score by Howard.
I spent a while trying to decide which theme to place first. Eventually I decided Lothlorien, because that how Fellowship of the Ring opens musically, too! The mysticism is especially present in the first scene in Lothlorien, before we know if these Elves are good or evil. The music perfectly reflects the "they might be good, they might be evil" until finally revealing Lady Galadriel. After then, the music is usually more clearly a "good" motif. But the mysticism is captured perfectly, Howard Shore is a master and genius at his craft.
@@stoatsnhoney Yes! And even after you’re sure they are good, Galadriel almost takes the ring for her own! JRRs elves are powerful, scary, ethereal, majestic, and beautiful…

Bravo! An excellent rendition of Howard’s best work. Especially lothlorien and the Rivendell suite. I will never forget hearing that in the prologue for fellowship in theaters.
Really is sad rings of power didn’t touch the musical genius of the trilogy.

A Star Wars medley is in the works! I've already worked in Battle of the Heroes, it's one of my favorite Star Wars motifs.
I haven't listened to the Matrix soundtracks much, but I'll give them a listen to see if I want to do a medley!

There is a link to sheets at the end of the description! The sheets are auto-generated in Logic Pro. I don’t know how to read sheets, so there might be mistakes in them but I wouldn’t know

6:30 got the name wrong, it's the Charge of the Rohirrim
I use leitmotif names, not track names. That is the Nature’s Reclamation theme, which Shore uses to symbolize Rohan in Return of the King due to Rohan’s alignment with nature and good. The same motif is also heard whenever the Eagles come and at the last March of the Ents!

The hardest one to play physically was Sauron’s theme. It’s not that complex, just hard to move my hands fast enough. The most difficult one to figure out though was probably Rohan.

Where is one of the best soundtrack from film in scene when in two towers galadhrims came to help man in battle
Howard Shore represents the Galadhrim with a militant version of the Lothlorien theme, I open the medley with the usual Lorien motif. I’d love to do an extended edition one day, with many more motifs and variations Shore created
You forgot "the breaking of the fellowship"
I considered it but it only plays a handful of times overall and the medley was already getting long. There’s actually dozens of themes I didn’t include and I’d love to do an extended medley some day.

I actually can’t read sheet music so I learned this by ear/watching other CZcams videos! But I have the MIDI file which Logic Pro can convert into sheet music if you want! It may not be totally accurate but reply if you want that and I’ll make a download link :)

Timing of some notes isn't Always correct. But still very good
Capitalization of some letters isn't always correct. But still missing some punctuation.
I only do so much "touching up" to my playing when I edit-sometimes mistakes will slip through :)

It's completely missing dynamics so the only emotion comes from the melody itself, which is pretty sad, but the transcription itself is really good
Think the playing is really good for someone who is self taught - I think its fine to be honest.
