Nice comparison. The markbass one and the elixir sounds brighter to my ears. DR and Ernie Ball seems warmer. I used personnaly Elixir nickel plated strings. It's pretty durable.
Maybe I will try the DR one.

I've used all of those and many more... The only ones that really give me long life are the Nickel Elixir...! I only have to try the Mark, but you don't know a brand that I really like. Fun fact the yellow and red Warwicks last much longer than the coated emp. Cheers!

Really useful video, thanx! I'm curious about the white bass in the video...

    Really great video, very helpful!
Overall the Elixirs to me sound the best... BlackSmith and Warwick EMP also sounded quite nice. Ernie Ball was quite surprisingly the worst in my opinion.

Elixir nickel plated sounds warm but at the same time bright when needed to by plucking more. Interesting. I'm considering to get Elixir nanoweeb strings. Thanks for the review.

    Elixer sounds the best

That was interesting. I've used Elixirs and found the tension a bit too much, Tried the MB ones too but they get lost in the mix for some odd reason. Currently using the XT ones on 2 basses and like them so far after 2 mths with regular gigging. My personal favs from your clips based on tone were the Black Beauties and the Elixir nickels. Thanks for the vid.
