I never stopped to think about who really was the strongest human in the Dragonball series. I always thought Tien was of an alien race. Dragonball has talking dogs, pigs, turtles, and even dinosaurs lol so I never lumped him in with the humans. Krillin can’t be the strongest human. It has to be Hurcule, the champ, baby! Could have been a cool 3rd eye awakening type of deal when coming into contact with Divine beings. Actually Beast, Orange, Ultra instincts n Ego along with Tien getting the time skip move should have all been some kind of side effect from fighting the divine. What you think?
even if tien was human, he just doesn't scale in power or feats to krillin, the last viable thing tien did was kikoho to cell form 2, last i checked that doesn't match to krillin sparring with goku blue.

When I read it I was in my early teens (circa 2002ish?) so I might be remembering wrong, but I feel like it was talked about leading up to his first Budokai fight against Goku or maybe Yamcha. Given it was the early 2000's I guess it might be possible that my manga might have had a translation error, looking back I know the subbed VHSs I bought around the same time had the line Cell says when he steps on 16 wrong (I think he said 'you're such an inferior model' instead of 'shut up you piece of scrap metal') After that I just chalked it up that he was half alien and had a higher ceiling like the half-Saiyans and never considered it again.

I'm sorry but Tien is human in my book. The dragon ball guides are great and all but there is nothing in the show or manga that states definitively that he is an alien. Goku was a human with a tail until they retconned that and turned him into a sayian in DBZ so there is no reason to believe Tien is not human just because of his third eye. Krillin has no nose, does that mean he's a part of an alien race with no nose? let's not even get started on Chiaotzu. I would love if they made tien an alien officially and he could gain ocular powers through his third eye that would put him in the same league with the sayians, piccolo and frieza. That would also move DB into a direction where brute force and powers ups aren't the only way to win a battle.
