The weather is starting to change so the fire pit will be great in winter my favourite camping time looking forward to using ours soon, great clip Steve shot and to the point 🇦🇺👍
Good one Steve 👍👍 they’re a bloody great little fore put eh, I love mine. Going to do some cooking on it over the weekend with a bit of luck, great little thing and great clip mate 😉
Having trouble getting home from Port Macquarie at the moment Steve. Maybe I’ll need a fire pit before I get home. There should be some good 4x4 parts after this week up here, although they may be a little damp. Les
Does this mean that when we finally go camping we can cook dinner on this little fella 🤠. Great little thing isnt it. I really want to get one. Cheers -Ryan
I have the Darche equivalent (purchased prior to the Drifta Stockton coming out). Reasons I bought it- 1. some places you can not have a ground fire but can have a firepit. 2. The fire is able to be moved if needed. 3. I can use it in the backyard without it making a big mess or burning the grass. The only cons I can see so far, the grill can be a pain to clean and it is tall to store but thin (a pro). They do weigh a bit to around the 12kg mark IIRC.
Yeah they’re quite stable. I use the base plate to catch the ash just to make it easier to take the ash away. I rate this fire pit and use it often. Cheers Steve
Nothing beats cooking over a fire or coals. Be interested to know if its like the Kings one I used a while back and gets chock full of coals. We got to a point we could not load any more wood in because it was so full of coals and it was empty before we started the fire.
@@MudducksTouringAustralia Cheers mate. When we finally catch up and you camp for the night I will show you my BBQ/Pit. It sure doesnt fold down as small but works a treat and doesnt seem to fill with coals even though it retains them for cooking.
Hi Steve, my Wife & I have been watching many of your videos on the big screen, so getting to commenting now. Interesting bit of kit this - I guess it just becomes sooty and that and the mess is contained in the bag. Is there a cleaning regime for it?
Hi mate, thanks for taking the time to comment. I don't think there's any special cleaning regime, just the occasional wash. They never ever look shiny again after the first use lol. The grille us easy to keep nice for cooking on. Cheers Steve

Steve - You really should be more selective about who you employ for extras or as Brett describes them “weird bloke”s. Love the fire starter - beats the Little Lucifers Jane’s VK2TEJ
Probably a bit late to comment, but this tip might be helpful. Although I am yet to decide what fire pit to go for, I also use a weber BBQ, where I put a ss grill above the standard cast iron one, say when cooking a roast. I have found prior to cooking, spraying a slight coating of cooking oil to the stainless steel plat, a good way to minimise food sticking to the grill plate, thus maybe applying a think coating of oil/rubbing oil to the top steel grill of the fire pit (prior to cooking).
Woo Hoo. 100th like :)
Nice mate! Thanks. Cheers Steve
ive been thinking for a while about getting a firepit because so any places dont like open fires. this gives food for thought. thanks
Hi John, its getting that way for sure. I do like this one. I have a few more fire pit clips coming. Cheers Steve
Great bit of kit
Yeah mate it is. Cheers Steve
Could be handy in the wet weather Steve. Thanks for showing it to us.
They are very useful Geoff. Cheers Steve

Not my best work Steve, but Im loving it so far. Cheers Steve
I’ve got the small version Drifta fire pit and like it. BTW, 26 comments vs 300 odd views is an excellent comment to view ratio, congratulations 😎👍
I really do like this pit Terry, just haven't used it enough yet. Thanks for the info on comments to views. Cheers Steve

Going strong mate. I use it as much as I can. Cheers Steve

Hi mate I looked at them too, then this one hit the market so I thought "why not" loving it so far. Cheers Steve
what size was the fire pit or did i miss it ?
Ours is the large so its 450 x 450 and stands about 520 with the grill on. 540 on the base stand too. Cheers Steve
Can't do a fire like when I was out camping with you and Brett a couple of years ago in that firepit.... 😁
No Adam! Thats true but it still does a great job. Cheers Steve
Hi mate, how does it go not using the baseplate and just standing it on its legs, still stable? Cheers for the review

That's very small steak Steve lol...looks like a nice bit of kit
Bigger than it looked Carlo. Cheers Steve

It does get a bit full of coals but I don't think there are any that don't. Cheers Steve

I'm really loving it so far Ed, Cant wait to use it more. Cheers Steve
Nice review & nice video
It definitely has some good features over my snow peak
Thanks again
Thanks mate, I’m finding it great so far. Cheers Steve
They are pretty good i reckon, i have the snow peak but they are all similar, you will find yourself using it heaps 🤠
Yeah loving it so far Shad. Cheers Steve
There's some weird bloke in the back ground
Yes there is but he probably won't watch it lol. Cheers Steve
Shame Luke coppied snowpeak fire fire depriving the Japanese of their dues, especially when Luke was always promoting to support the OEMs !
True but he’s not the only one and I couldn’t afford a snowpeak one. Thanks for watching. Cheers Steve
