This might have been the best dialogue Marj's Alex had since taking over the role of Alexandra after Beverlee. The lines were pitch perfect and were written in a way to make the most of Marj's Alex. Plus, the look was flawless; Marj's Alex looks like a former baroness. This era of Marj's Alex might have been her best in the role and closest to Beverlee's Alex (a combination of a smooth brandy with an equal dose of venom).

A lot of the negativity Marj gets is no fault of the actress, It was the writers that didn't write her well and I'm sure if Bev would have stayed in the role, it would have been the same issue. Marj's Alex was at her best when she first took over the role and her return right after Joan Collins.
If Signy had played Annie Dutton as the screaming nuerotic that Cyntha Watros did, she might have had a chance...Signy played her as a cool and almost calm woman, which Annie (ultimately) was not...

Never understood all the hating on Signey in role other than its incredibly daunting task to replace Cynthias i felt groundbreaking work in role of Annie Dutton but love them both they my role models as actors of many female actors in daytime dramas my rolemodels! Sorry boys! Add to fact that i read soap opera digest interview sitting in dentist office at appt. One day when they briefly brought Signey back as annie maybe late 2002 or 2003 might be mistaken but Signey was talking bit about Annie in mental institution that " she one sick puppy!" Referring to her potrayal of annie and when she first got hired for part of Annie she had no idea She would be playing Annie! Love u signey! Love u cynthia! But bravo signey! Taking that on! Your bad ass! You too cynthia! All my best love to both of them! My female actor role models!
Agrees. Cynthia's version of Annie set the bar, and Signy played Annie far too "cool.". Anne Heche would have been a better replacement and could have played Annie "hotter." Signy was always much "cooler" in any of the characters she portrayed on soaps (like Y&R).
@Messylin I like how you said LOL, because Annie truly was a sociopath, as played by Watros Coleman didn't get on with the fans (including me) because she played Annie as "cool"...we were so used to "Hysterical Annie" , even in her calm moments, and Signy Coleman played her as if she was IN control...not her fault obviously...I always felt that Coleman NEVER saw what Watros had done with the role...
They really should have gotten rid of the Alexandria and Alan characters after the original actors left. These 2 lack the sophistication of the originals.
