INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED builder of bespoke customer cars, Paul Bacon, has completed his most ambitious project yet - a steampunk hot rod built from scratch. The Automatron is a horse-drawn carriage inspired hot rod, boasting a 3.5L supercharged V8 engine with an estimated top speed of up to 110mph. Beginning with a 1924 Singer Sport base, parts were added from a variety of unlikely sources; including a switch gear from a Lancaster Bomber and the front wheels of an Austin 7. Taking over four years to complete, the build has won the maverick inventor critical acclaim, with Paul highly commended for the hot rod’s distinctive design. If he still has it, he should look into showing it to Mattel and seeing if it can be made into a HotWheels toy.

So this video is 4 years old, which begs the question....how much did he get for it??!?!? As an aircraft mechanic, I am awestruck by the metal fabrication done on this amazing machine. I know what is involved in custom making a part.....A part. There are hundreds of one-off parts that you can see. Just imagine what's not visible on the video? My goodness the build hours alone bogle the mind, let alone the trial and error, and I'm sure many parts were trashed, then rebuilt until it was right. BRAVO

I know Paul the builder and can tell you all its sold and the level of detail is outstanding and by no means, a daily driver is more of a concept car , he is pushing the limits of car designs google his other cars

I was lucky to see this car at the 2019 super nats was amazing!! to look at and sounded grate it cought my ear when he drove it into the show grounds so much to look at and take in on this car again amazing top work man looking forward to seeing whats next.
Stands on its own as a work of drivable art... Certainly wouldn't call it Ridiculous.....Unfortunately you have to stick labels on things so they can put in a box and made commercially acceptable.. Well done chap .....looks like you had fun building it.. Big nod to the Rat Fink....

I think a run at one of Barrett Jackson auctions would reap you the well deserved rewards you should have to fund your next project and provide much deserved compensation for all of your hard work.
