"it seems I saw you in some teenage wet dream" is probably one of the best line ever in the pop lyrics' history!
But it's the faux teenage sarcasm of "I like to get up if you know what I mean" that perfects that line.
Steve absolutely slaughters that bass line. It's the seedy core of the whole thing and it is magnificent on the record and even more magnificent live. RIP Smackey.
This song is both skin-crawlingly icky yet beautifully theatrical at the same time. A contrast Jarvis masters as a lyricist.

I got the "End of the Line" string bonus track and mixed both tracks together EXACTLY how they dropped into the song and so this pleases me. As well as Jarvis miming things with the mic which made me genuinely laugh.
