    I just love Miyoko! She saved me with her mock Turkey recipe for Thanksgiving! We are so programmed to crave certain tastes, & flavors, ESPECIALLY at holidays!!! AMD now I can make an entire holiday feast vegan style, without feeling like I'm missing anything!

    What a great lady! She does not look 60! Love what she said about “vegan.” Those animal use industries are disgusting.

    If someone is suing her for using the word butter in her products, why are they not suing manufacturers that use that word in nut butters like almond butter? I love Myoko!

    Miyoko is one effing amazing woman. She inspires me a ton. Miyoko's is the only vegan cheese I buy. I was eating Daiya for a bit but nothing compares to Miyokos.

    What an amazing person! I admire her so much. She is doing so much to help animals in multiple ways. Am in awe of all that she does. Met her in a vegan restaurant in Eugene OR about 8 years ago. She was sitting at the next table.

    Have had that cookbook for a while and love it. The no oil recipes are tasty and even non-vegans love it. Thanks so much Miyoko.

    From a health perspective, giving up dairy as the first step makes sense but from the perspective of reducing animal suffering giving up chicken should be the first step. There is no comparison. Prof John Webster of the University of Bristol School of Veterinary Science said of industrial chicken production, “in both magnitude and severity, the single most severe, systematic example of man’s inhumanity to another sentient animal.” The cruelty inflicted on chickens is beyond description and tragically people are unaware of how bad it is.

    Mama cows cry for days after their calves are taken "to market" (to be killed) They DO love, They DO feel pain, It is not necessary for our survival to kill others.

      Yeah some idiot recently told me cows are too stupid to realize they are being exploited and they even LOVE to come in for milking. I told him they were probably smarter than him, and as a mother I know the only reason they come in to be milked is because full breasts hurt like hell and need relief!!!

    Apparently the "fruits" of chestnuts are also true nuts... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nut_(fruit). Miyoko was and is a game-changer for me and so many others, and LOVE her books!!!

    Now I want Chestnut Cheese😭😭😭😭 It is a Nut from the Beech Tree family. Water chestnuts are completely different. There's one woman on CZcams who made Chestnut Cream. She used Yogurt and Chestnut Paste. 😉😋😍

    If Miyoko ever creates a ranch dressing that’s just as tasty as my favorite, Follow Your Heart Reduced Fat, it’ll be a best seller. I know the reduced fat isn’t perfect because it still has oil but I figure if I don’t use a lot and it helps me eat mucho salads and vegetables, hopefully the benefit outweighs the risks.
    I’ve been buying her cheeses ever since I discovered them and had no idea who the person was behind those wonderful products. To learn that she also authored cookbooks, runs an animal sanctuary and raised three kids is mind-blowing. As AJ said, “I want to be Miyoko when I grow up.”

    What about cocoa butter used in the beauty industry? No one prevents hand cream companies from using the word butter...

      @@cheezheadz3928 But regulators do not make such exceptions; the argument is entirely semantic, and therefore stupid.

    • @AlexiHolford
      @AlexiHolford Před 4 lety

      There are two kinds of chestnuts. The ones 🌰 from trees that are popular around Christmas in the US and water chestnuts are the ones used in Chinese cuisine.
