- Kim assembled some the Best players in California
when he relocated to So. Calif in the early 90's. This
footage is from a TV show in Germany, and on tour
in support of his LP/CD released in the same time
frame, under the title name "Tigerman". Well worth
owning if you happen to be a devoted Kim Wilson
fan & follower, such as myself.
The Stellar Band line up doesn't get any better,
as we see THE Cream of the Crop in a supporting
role. It's by coincidence that these guys all live in
California...they are some of the top, well recognized
blues musicians on the planet, in this & that decade.
Well, for me, the names alone speaks for itself.
Maybe thats just me. Naaa...these r sum bad azzmofo's!
I know, that you know, that I know...
Junior Watson - Guitar
Rusty Zinn - Guitar
Larry "The Mole" Taylor - Upright Acoustic Bass
Richard "BigFoot" Innes - Drums
Gene Taylor - Piano
& of course...the Great............Kim Wilson
I think Kim Wilson is the most underrated vocalist in America. His unique voice, his inflections, his tone, his command, his mastery all thrown in with that warm, distinctive voice. Wow, how good this guy is. Underrated, like Blondie Chaplin a little. Wilson's got a voice that I can listen to all day.
Gene Taylor!!!
Best rhythm section ever. Richard, Larry, Gene! Junior is so playful and one of my all time favs!
When Kim Wilson opens his eyes in the solo, with that glazed look, it means he was "in the zone" totally! He was connecting to "the source" of all music!
This is the best blues band of all time, never to be duplicated!
I saw this line-up, same year, when the TIger Man album was released, at The Plantation Club in Worcester, Mass. Rusty Zinn on 2nd guitar, was about 18 at the time. I talked to him about it recently while on tour with Mark Hummel, and he said, "Man, with Junior and Kim on stage, I was scrambling just to keep up. I didn't have a clue what I was doing there with those guys, but I was loving it!" :- )
Fantastic voice. Killer harp too. Always has great players with him too.
Always said that Kim is up there with the Greats,I just thank God to have lived to hear all them. I wonder what the scene will be a hundred years time. I hope there will be Peace in The World, music never killed anyone !.
These players recognize what a rare and fortuitous merging of artistic vision this is. They are, and we, are incredibly lucky to witness this "channeling" of blues. Wow, whew! God bless Larry Taylor.
Happy Birthday Mr Kim Wilson 71 ,the Best Harmónic play the Blues 🎹🎸🥁🎸
Junior på høyere side, fyller opp hele lydbildet med noe bare Junior kan, ufattelig vakkert.
Ohne Filter. Interesting German music program. We could watch it in Holland as well.
THIS IS A GREAT BLUES BAND...RICHARD + LARRY+ GENE ~~ ALONG WITH RUSTY + JR... MAN !!! THAT'S IT... YOU GOT THE GOOD BAND HERE KIM...
gracias por compartir este video!!!! que gran banda... junior watson gran guitarrista
I saw this tour at The Cabooze in Minneapolis. Except for one Thunderbirds tune, they didn't play anything later than their sound, the 50's. It was the closest I've come to imaging what it would have been like to hear Little Walter play. What a great group this was.
They sound great!
What a line-up! Wish I'd been there.
When Kim Wilson looks heavenward in his solos, he is connecting to God!
Fantastic, the best!

Kim takes the Joe Hill Lewis song to new heights. Great stuff. This is what separates Kim from the copy artists.
