Allah promises to not only forgive our bad deeds but to also "replace" our bad deeds with good ones. How do we know for sure if our repentance "tawbah" is accepted?, simple- the things that made us do evil will now begin to assist us to do good. For example, If internet was a source of seeing filth and obscenity it will now be replaced and become a source of reading, learning and purifying your thoughts and actions. If addiction to certain foods was a cause of obesity and laziness, then it will be replaced with healthy wholesome foods that now become a source of activity and energy for you. If friends where a means of wasting time then it is replaced with solitude , which becomes a source of connecting with Allah and strengthening the soul
