Theres two blend door actuators on this generation Explorer. For temperature differences (one side hot, one side cold) that actuator is behind the glove compartment as shown If its distribution of the air (side vents blowing but not the main vent) that blend door is behind the instrument cluster.
Great video thanks for the help. I have a suggestion when replacing look up there is another connector upline on a bracket I just popped the connector there off of the bracket and was able to go under the wiring harness.
Thanks for the great video. That damn wiring harness is totally in the way on my 2014. The filter was worse!. Ew Still going at it. I cut the plastic screw on the harness. That helped a little...
I'm glad I found your vidio made the disassembly so much easier. I watched hyours and four others and yours was the best! I do wish you would show how to release the wiring clips and the last step before removing the actuator show how to get around the cover to reah the second screw. I tried for hours to get a socket on it and finally gave up. You don't show or mention how to get that out of the way. Question, there is a short stif wire that I cut by mistake. How do I repair it? Thanks again !!

Man. I bought a 13 sport about 4 months ago. This will be my 2nd replacement on this dam actuator. Forgot how to do it. Thought I'd check your video out for something quicker or easier. Anyways idk if buying oem makes it ladt longer or not. This doorman made it a couple months 😡😡
Did replacing the actuator actually fix your issue? The majority of the time it just requires reprogramming the HVAC Control Module and not replacing the actuator to fix this issue. Gotta love the dual climate system, right?
You could have gotten a little motor from hobby lobby, then cut the outer black plastic and swap the one inside the blower out. They use those tiny little motors that are just about every kids toy car.
Im having kind of the opposite problem than you did here, when I have AC on for both sides the driver side blows cold air and the passenger side blows hot air. Do you think this would require the same fix?
Would you know if this will help my problem My ac is stuck on cold both sides driver and passenger even when I move my temperature to 70°F it feels like I have it on low
Please tell me how you were able to re insert that top screw into the actuator. It's an absolute pain in the ass because of that plastic wired box being in the way. I've tried everything and I've lost about 4 screws in the glove box area trying to do it.
Never mind. I just deliberately roke the plastic housing and moved it out of the way. It did t seem to serve any meaningful purpose other than to organize a group of wire harnesses.
Every thing I see says passenger side is cold and driver is hot but my car has the driver cold and the passenger hot. Is it the same part I need to replace or a different one

I'm happy you didn't have to take out the dash too because I've got the exact same problem. Thanks to this video I might be able to fix it myself.
Great video. Instructions right on. I’m not a mechanic so it did take me about 2.5 hours. Worth every minute.
Glad to hear 👍🏼
Definitely was but I think I need a recharge as well
This was the best video on this ngl, and turns out, THERE WASNT ONE THERE TO BEGIN WITH
Thanks for the info! That garage door opener light at the end is a trip!
Yup I worked Hyundai for 2 years learned lots everyday and now work at ford and learning new things here everydau
Educational and entertaining 😂 My 2019 flex is doing the same thing. Looks like o-smileies is in my future
Thank you here for the exact same reason ! I'll let you know how it goes :) going to look for part online now
Love our ‘15 Sport. A lot of common problems. Timing chains, water pumps, PTU’s all garage. But we love it.
Sir I greatly appreciate you have the same exact car same exact year same exact problem I really needed that

He did not show you guys where you have to remove the white plastic pegs on either side of the glove box. It is not just a yank and pull procedure.

What a miserable project! Glad you made this video. Sure did help!

Great video. I subscribed when you coughed and opened the beer. LOL
👌🏼
Easy talk, I'll get to it, helped alot!
My sons 2014 has 2 white plastic push fasteners one on each end of the glove box,we broke the tabs when we pulled the box out.
Thank you sir for being just straight forward he’ll ya
"my mind says no, but my wallet says yes" 😅
You was cracking open a ski. Which amazes me that it’s not just in KY.
I used a Dorman actuator. It lasted about 1 year. I have a Motorcraft one to go in this next time.
do you have the part number by any chance?

Dude this is awesome! Great video. Definitely would like to see more like this in the future.
Turn the clip around on your flashlight and then you can clip on the bill of your hat
Thanks homie.
Good job where you bay parts amigo
Mechanic here, I will only ever put the easy to get to bolts back in.

On my 3rd one now.

Did this fix work for you @jwright1099? I have this same issue. Thx!

Omg how do you squeeze fat fingers behind the wiring harness!!?!
Use old motor door shaft to check door movement.

Probably needs driver side actuator then
From R Kelly to 50 cent. But still helpful.
Get a head light.... So Amazing!!!!
Sometimes you drop the screw when you are putting in the hard to get one and then you cannot find it and say oh what the H#LL.
Would this be the same placement process for the 2013 ford flex?
I’m honestly not sure. No experience on the flex.
Can't even connect on the gorilla hands here lol
Can I use this audio to make a video?
Hey maybe put a disclaimer about the white pull tabs on either of the sides of the hinge, that you conveniently broke and forgot to mention
You mean those white tabs at 15:24?
Do you have a part number for this piece
I would go OE part. This one failed again already.
@@TheDieseldog Do you know what the OEM part number is for this part?
lucky it was the passenger side driver side must be buried
i just cut that door cover of
That's not it now what ?
Did this and wanted to bash the car with a bat afterwards. I real.pain in the ass. Ended up not even putting other bolt back in. One will do.
You did it wrong
Duel climate 👎🏾
