I remember watching you do the bulkhead ages ago now & I wasn't sure what happened to it 🤔, I know now 😊. I think the car was popular due to the colour, I remember painting this colour on a lot of rover cars back in the 00's. I'm happy to see it again & hopefully it'll get finished soon 🙏. You're going to have nowhere to work soon 😂😂. You're going to need a bigger place 😊😊.
Yeah this one was a big job for sure but we are over the worse of it now. Yes the colour is lovley it really is we all know I am fan of a blue mini. Yes it will leave me and go off for paint so I really hope I can drive it when its done and you guys can see it finished. haha yeah its full now but the plan is to clear some so I can do my projects :)

There's a special place in my head for this car, I will never forget how rotten this car was and how stunned I was that you managed to save it. I wrongly saw it as a parts car lol
Yeah its a labour of love for sure, and its close now, paint is booked for it this year and it will soon be back on the road. Most people would have parted it out but its nice its going to be enjoyed again once more.

Great to see this car back. Will you be doing any of the work to fit the later headlights or show the difference between the earlier and later wings.
Cant decide if the passenger wheel well is solid because its been replaced or the lip is like that due to Rover quality 😂
Glad your happy to see it back. I will ask petemate what lights he is running as might use the early style lights but will keep you all posted. I am sure we can get stuck into that wheel arch. I bring you guys as much content on this as I can.
@@SimpsonsClassics I think it should be standard MPI lights. Although that means you will need the cut out in the wings for the leveller motor.
Yes it should be one with a cut out but a lot of the aftermarket wings don't have that cut out so was interested to see how you would go about modifying it to fit the later lights
@@lonmar2645 yes keen spot. I will confirm the lights that are being used and update you. If it’s the mpi ones then it’s full send with a disc cutter
The factory build quality of these modern minis is absolutely shocking. It's criminal the way they were just slapped together. In the early 2000s I had a 1979 clubman estate and it was in MUCH better condition than this one! It looked tatty but was solid. Such a shame.
Yep if you have caught many videos on this channel you will know I feel exactly the same. My 72 clubman is in much better shape.
Please finish something..i was following the 89 build...nothing for months.😢
Hey like I have previously mentioned in videos some of these cars aren’t mine so aren’t funded by me. There is a 89 video live Sunday. That one is going to be pushed along to paint stage very soon.
