For those of you saying that this some sort of Satanic ritual, walpurgis night is more the merging of an ancient pagan spring celebration (beltane) and a commemoration of a Christian saint (St. Walpurga), so if anything this is more of a religious celebration, a sort of Halloween party with a fantasy theme dress up

I came across them at Dutch fantasy fair Castlefest where they are one of those bands that need to be there or it isn't Castlefest. I have tickets for whenever we can go to concerts again (November 2020 became December 2021). I'm Dutch but I understand German without a problem. Speaking and writing I'm still working on.

Traditionally and especially beautiful in the Harz Mountains, when the witches fly to the Brocken to celebrate the legend.

Because there is no gospel in paganism, we have no dogmas nor prophets, we don't tell people what they have to believe, if you feel pagan it's your business not ours, we have no universal message for the world, paganism is a very personal and intimate path of spirituality, it comes from no book, it's in your heart
It is actually a pagan belief not to convert anyone, because those that will become pagan will find it in their own way. The closest I have ever gotten to converting someone is telling them to be pagan based on the reasoning that they weren't enjoying the abrahamic religions. She was slow to get it at first, and she told me that when she started, she was going to involve parts of Christianity, since she was technically a Christian before starting the Craft. When people ask me what kind of music I like and I say "pagan, celtic etc" they always have a second of "haha good one". I don't know why it's not super popular. Listening to Faun always makes me feel like I'm on an adventure.
I'm really surprised that something as pagan as this has (as of Dec '23) 35 million views. Maybe pagan music is becoming super popular.
They're still early on their journey. In time they will feel the hollowness of modernity set in. As passing pleasures fail to sate the hunger of the void, eventually they will have to rediscover the essence of spirit.

Aha. That sounds like someone might know WHY they're dancing around what seems sort of related to a Maypole. Not that I know why folk dance around Maypoles either 'tho I suspect like many things its pre-Christian in origin and possibly was 'annexeed' by the Church as part of their insatiable obsession to assimilate everyone.
Still, I had no idea Faun were like some sort of wiccan(?) music group. I just like quite a lot of their music. But I did wonder why they do some seemingly curious things.

As someone who recently learned German after moving to Germany a few years ago, this shows how beautiful the German language is. As an American I always viewed it as such a harsh language, but as I started learning and hearing everyday German and some of the beauty of the structure of the language, I fell in love with it and the culture! We live in Swabian land.... understanding and getting a grasp on the slang is a hilarious journey lmao

I lost someone recently. His memorial was on Walpurgisnacht this year. We are Americans, so this holiday doesn't really exist out here. I learned about this holiday because of this song only a year ago. So, May Day / Walpurgisnacht / Beltane became a very grief-filled time this year for me. However, this song and other songs by Faun and few other artists have been very therapeutic for me to listen to. I am not religious, but I started lighting devotional candles, and wearing a cartouche of Anubis. I feel like my friend isn't truly gone if I have music and tokens of his existence. Rest in peace, Austin. Whatever is out there after this life, if anything at all, I hope you're doing your best.

@@richardbraakman7469 really i lived in the bush for a full 2 yrs and had dunny paper i just did not want to live in a city or town for a while only went into town to get mail and things i needed even had friends come out to where i was and they were impressed that i had dunny paper and a fully built toilet aswell as a fully in-closed area for my fire and a whole setup for just chilling next to it and a ton of batteries so i could have music out there will admit i missed things like my computer and other things from the normal world but it was great to get back to just living with the land

She has been trained as a "baylan", a tribal shaman, healer, massage provider, and midwife. As a Christian priest I see no conflict between spiritual Christian and true Pagan belief. When I perform weddings, if the couple agree and understand, I handfast them by binding their hands together with my stole and raising them in front of the assembly. Most people understand.

Well, Christians don't celebrate Walpurgisnacht as an independent thing, it's just a vigil because they celebrate Saint Walpurga the next day und she was basically an anti-witchcraft saint. And there are also modern Satanists who celebrate Walpurgisnacht.

I cannot explain it. I lived in Germany for 10 years and there is just something about this video, the dancing and the music that calls to something deep within me. I wish I had wondered into this lost when I lived in Germany, perhaps I could have found that wild part of me that answers the summons of this video. I know that my words might sound nuts, but I cannot define what keeps drawing me back to it like old and forgotten friends just remembered.
