Thank you for this video. I wanted to be able to upload epub and mobi files of my free books for my mailing list and it was a lifesaver.
I used option 2, with another plugin than the ones you mentioned, but your demo with Enhanced media library was very useful.
WP file manager had a weird interface and I couldn't find how to do it in the free version.
I couldn't find the "enhanced media library" plugin, but when I searched for it, I chose Media Library Assistant. I was able to add epub and mobi as new MIME types, I checked the "Always Use MLA MIME Type" option and I was able to upload them.
I'm a WP newbie and divi made my life pretty darn easy with the option to link to a media file. Now people can click on the cover and download their free book.

Thank you so much for this video, I wanted to add a .vcf file and I was unable to do so. I used your trick to add a plugin of enhanced media library and added the mime type and everything was on the go!

OTF doesn't come up as an option under MIME Types. I need to add it manually. Can anyone tell me what the specific "extension", "MIME Type", "Singular Label", "Plural Label" inputs would be? Thank you!

Thank you so much, i tried to use the plugin and mime-type but that didn't work, I had to resort to adding the code to wp-config file option as a last resort, my site is protected by membership site, so hopefully that should protect from hacking

Media Library Assistant plugin worked for me. I was able to add the extensions I needed as new MIME types. I checked the "Always Use MLA MIME Type" option and I was able to upload files, and they can be downloaded from my website now. I hope it works for you, too
