Mat from the fires of heaven is what cemented him as my favorite arc he accepted his fate but just wanted to stay alive!, the only person who comes close is Rands moment on dragonmount
i dunno if 'accepted' is the right word. More like....gave in begrudgingly. =P but towards the end, he started to like it and mabye even lean into it, which was hella extra cool. =P
He realized with forsaken after him an army around him he would be safer .
The wisdom accepting her watery death and finally losing her 'block' was pretty good.
Who'se Rand? Team Mat
I think it's close to a universal reaction. He also became my favourite after this, and kept the spot until the end.
These guys wouldn’t have lived past a single battle. Matt took a band of soon-to-be-dead grunts and raised them to the greatest organized fighting force on the continent. He turned lead into gold. These men expanded his influence, not unlike that starter cash he tried to accrue in Tar Valon. I love how Jordan wrote destiny.
The Tairens are freaking annoying.
This is so good. What makes me sad is that we will not see an honest adaption of this on the show.
If the same butchery from the first season continues. It makes me wince to contemplate what will be sacrificed to the god of ratings of the non book readers. I'm going through all of the books again. Audio books this time. Pure pleasure

Thank you for uploading this. I love how Mat flows between past lives memories and his own. This is when Mat started to hit his stride as a character. His duel with Gawyn and Galad is one of my favorite moments in the series.
I wish there was the clip when Tuon realized he wasn't a toy, he was a Lion on the open prairie and she married him
The Mat arc is one of the top arcs in WOT. To me only Rand arc matches.
I mean Sanderson actually makes the two characters debate about it in the final books... So yeah I agree!

The music is perfect, the creepy tense vibe it adds is so spot on.
Think about it a 20 yr old country bumpkin starts pontificating about high order tactical doctrine, I would be freaked out.

Matrim is a great character in a better series. Funny, he reminds me of my best friend Matt, he also has the dark ones own luck.
Mat is by far my favorite, however Perrin is right on his heels
I never took to Perrin ...I lost my patience with him not embracing his wolfness.....

Seconded. "You can't have her." As he gets ready to fight a demon series killer with a necklace, all because he made a promise is one of the top moments for Mat, to me. And the final stand against the thing is incredible.

The Band of the Red Hand can't be created without Mat sounding the Horn of Valere, beating up Gawyn and Galad, following and protecting Rand, bargaining his neck for a magical, exotic halberd and memories, dating a tall Aiel chick, and gambling with nobles.
He does all of that first, and then when he orders the nobles how to fight, they listen and the reader believes they would listen despite Mat's own doubts.
The Amazon TV show will not build Mat up to be the unwitting hero general, not simply because they don't know how to write believable characters. They'll fail by refusing to allow Matrim to shine until the series' logic forces them to bring him to the front. But then, no one will believe in his leadership.
Amazon WoT is really bad
Book Mat: Caring, putting himself at risk to save people, audacious, selfless even as he pretends to be otherwise.
Show Mat: Selfish, greedy, deus ex machina machine. The Shadar Logoth dagger tied to a staff. Just… no.
This is the only Matt Cauthon I'll acknowledge. All the characters from the series should have their own names.

It's Kate Reading and Michael Kramer who did the audiobooks. They are real life Tom Merrilin bringing stories to life and adding value to them in the way they read and tell them. I've both read and listened to the books many time and would say the audiobooks are better IMO.

They did Mat dirty in the Amazon Prime WOT show.
They did the entire series dirty in the farce of a show they are making....characters are different, story line is different....has almost nothing to do with the books other than the names.

It was about a hero who insisted with every breath that he was anything but a hero.

It’s because the copyright owners get all ad revenue earned, they also can get this channel removed if they really want but I assume they would rather get the free ad money generated by my videos which is totally their right.
CZcams has already informed of this, that is why I’m asking for support through other links so I can create more of this content more consistently, don’t get me wrong I love this series and it’s not about the money, I just don’t have the time to do as much as I want due to my job commitment’s and family time, I would really like to do this full time but without any financial support it’s really hard to fit in the time to create content🙏

Mat really doesn't realize how important he is (or doesn't want to)
Would anyone want to? He’s wine, women and song not a hero. But every gambler knows that you have listen to the dice and pray they roll in your favour.
All of this demonstrates competence in a man. It's hilarious that the live action show will eschew everything about this. Bit of a shame really, especially considering the idea that there could have been an anime of the Wheel of Time.
An animated series would be amazing. I want to see a faithful adaptation of the battle for Maradon before I die.
