Architecture
Pura Segara Ulun Danu Batur is a complex of several temples, with the main temple structure featuring traditional Balinese architectural elements such as multi-tiered meru (pagoda-like shrines), intricate stone carvings, and ornate gates (candi bentar). The temple is situated on the slopes of Mount Batur, an active volcano, which adds to the mystical atmosphere of the site.
Religious Practices
The temple is the center of the subak system in Bali, an ancient irrigation and water management system that reflects the cooperative nature of Balinese society. Ceremonies and rituals are held regularly at the temple, particularly during the major Hindu festivals of Galungan, Kuningan, and the temple's anniversary (odalan). These ceremonies involve offerings, music, dance, and elaborate processions.
Natural Setting
The location of Pura Segara Ulun Danu Batur is breathtaking, with stunning views of Lake Batur and the surrounding mountains. Temple in Balinese langua is kuil ( pronounced as Kovil like in Tamilnadu). So technically there ancestors were from preasent day of indian subcontinent.
