    Maybe it's just me but I have never been a fan of an instruction video with only music.

    Oh and one last piece of advice; Lets do a first class job, Always solder you wires together and insulate them with shrink tubing. Run you wires to a 5 amp auto reset circuit breaker.

    Nice job 👏. You could have ran the wire thru the thermostat hole going to back of frige like I did mine, but that works as well 😉

    I would fuse all of those additional feedswith 3-5 amp fuses. You have no protection against shorts. This can be a source for a fire.

    Why not add two more fans where the original was.. tie into original wiring?

    The screens were installed backwards teh smooth metal strip side should face out to prevent anyone getting cut by the rough edges of the screen.

      Dr Larry, I’ve installed mine the same way as it seems to only fit with the jagged edge out. Can you show how you installed yours to fit?

    Where did you find fans thin enough to fit in that space? I have a Grand Design with Dometic. It looks the same as yours. I’ve tried three different types. Can’t make them fit.

    How much of a difference did this mod make. I am having trouble keeping my fridge cool above 90 deg

    • @josephle6554
      @josephle6554  Před 3 lety +3

      Major difference. We’re in 100°F weather and fridge stays cool. The outside fans ensure heat exits. The inside fans circulate cold air

    What do you suggest doing if your refrigerator is a 110v ? Mine is 110v it has no fans inside the actual fridge area so stuff in the fridge takes a VERY long time to cool.. I wanted to add a fan to help circulate air throughout the fridge but wasnt sure how to power a fan from within the fridge?? Unfortunately most fans are 12v. Any ideas? I do have a light inside the fridge so could i possibly attach it to that light or maybe there is a way to run wires from a 110v plug outside the fridge to thru into the inside? I noticed amazon does sell 110v fans that move a lot of air that could seriously help!!

    • @josephle6554
      @josephle6554  Před rokem

      I installed a 12v (or was it 5v) fan inside the refrigerator too. At 6:42 minutes in the video, I ran a wire through the drain line to get outside and tap 12v.

      @RodneyOrff-js3xz Před 7 měsíci

      Thats why you have a converter you seen underneath the fridge or somewhere in the rv... if it's like mine the 120v goes into that box converting it to 12v... fridges are 12v they say 120v as well cause when it's plugged into shorepower it works by sending the 120v through your converter and converting it to 12v

    • @peterc504
      @peterc504 Před 7 měsíci

      @@RodneyOrff-js3xz do you have this same summit fridge with no fans and air circulation inside the fridge portion? I don't think adding one fan is going to make a huge difference bc each row of shelf space will need a fan to really make a difference..

    Are you having the fans blowing air in, it blowing hot air out?

    • @idsullymichaels

      @@josephle6554 shouldn't they pull air in to go across (cooling) the vent/coils, and then up the vent (hot air rises)?

    • @idsullymichaels
      @idsullymichaels Před rokem

      clarification - the fans installed on the outer vent pull air in to go up the vent, (didn't realize you likely meant the ones in the unit)
