  • Welcome to "Saigon in 2023"! In this video, join me on a journey through the bustling streets of District 1 in Ho Chi Minh City as I explore some of the city's must-visit spots. First up, we'll stop for a delicious lunch at a local eatery for some delicious Pho.
    After the satisfying meal, we'll head to a nearby cafe to indulge in the delightful Vietnamese Coconut Coffee, a specialty beverage that's sure to tantalize your taste buds. From there, we'll make our way to the Walking Street, a vibrant and lively pedestrian area that's packed with shops, street performers, and plenty of locals and tourists alike.
    Last but not least, we'll venture to the iconic Landmark Building, one of Saigon's newest and most impressive landmarks. With its sleek and modern design, this architectural masterpiece offers breathtaking views of the city from its observation deck. So sit back, relax, and get ready for a day in one of Southeast Asia's most vibrant and exciting cities.

    Visited Saigon in 2020 and due to possibility of travelling there for work again I thought I would check out newer videos. And on my first attempt I find a fellow Irani! Nice Houman jan. And I like you referring to the city as Saigon. Would love for everything to work out and go there again.

      @houmanrosie  Před rokem

      I usually don’t like to live in D1 - there’s better options in D4 or D2. You can look into for example Millenium in D4 or places like New City in D2.

      That's if you're talking about the generic tourist things. It's a city of 10 million (officially), there's way more to do that's not listed in most guides.

  • @Gylfaginning16

    Great Video. I love saigon and the constant hustle and bustle. But how did you manage to get to the top/bar with your flip flops and the casual outfit in general? I was at landmark in summer 2022 with my fiancée (she was born im Vietnam and we had a friend with us who is vietnamese and lives in saigon) and the doorman wouldn't let us in because of our outfit. As for me I really stand out cause of my blonde hair. No denying that I'm a tourist. The guy said something like entering is only for people with money. I didn't know we looked that poor.

    • @houmanrosie
      @houmanrosie  Před rokem +3

      Thanks for watching the video! The only thing I can think of is that the security/doorman was a lot more chill when I went there. They didn't seem to care too much about the outfit or that I was wearing sandals. But something similar has happened to us before though so I think it depends on who is working at times.

      In Saigon.. your money is your passport to EVERYTHING. If you want the doorman to let you in..hand him a $10 dollar bills ;)

      @Gylfaginning16 Před rokem

      @@rafalefalconThat indeed is a good tip. I heard from different people, that you should always have some money on you for such cases. Especially regarding cases where the police might stop you. A little money always helps :D

    The Landmark Sky view is quite expensive, even for foreigners, and prohibitive for the majority of Vietnamese.

    • @nguyenquockhanhmmo
      @nguyenquockhanhmmo Před 6 měsíci

      Bạn có thể lên tầng 79 của Landmark uống caffee không cần phải lên Sky View tầng 81 đâu. Và khi bạn lên uống caffee thì không tốn phí lên đấy mà chỉ tốn tiền nước 100.000-200.000 VND ~ 5-10 USD. Và nó không đắt lắm cũng không cấm bất kỳ ai cả chỉ cần bạn ăn mặc lịch sự và mang giày là ổn nhé.
