Daihatsu Charade 1.0 EL Automatic 2003 EJ-VE engine

My car has 26,000 miles on it and has hand controls for me to drive. It is very cheap to run and can do 60MPG (UK) and the insurance is very low. It is very easy to drive and surprisingly comfortable and nippy. Everything works and it is extremely reliable, which I need.

NICE CAR BRO!!!just bought one but the other version..here at malaysia we called it perodua viva..but almost 90% i had converted my car to daihatsu avy...just pnp the front and rear bodypart..well..when i see your car...damn..its so nice to see the original one...such a great little car...

Hi Phil, just bought myself a similar car,alltought they are called Cuore over here ,in the Netherlands. Mine came on the road in 2008 but was probably build 2006 or 2007
and is the same model / type (L251) with manual gearbox. They are great little cars and drive very well. People who laugh at the car are pretty stupid, you are right to ignore them, they have clearly never drove one. Anyway, you will laugh at them all at the petrolpump !
Although I'm used to drive in a Volvo C70 , I like to step into the Daihatsu, especially for short and medium runs.
Yours looks great for his age! However I could not help noticing , there is no sticker under the hood with the date of a timing belt exchange?
If your car is maintained by a dealer or garage they exchanged it in 2008. This should happen every 60.000 miles or 60 months. Maybe I tell you nothing new but ,if the belt breaks (due to wear and/or age) there is irrevocable major engine damage! (If in doubt just exchange the timing belt)
(Not to make you worry about it , but I thought I just mention it)
