  • We were blown away by the response to our first video "Day in the life of a CEO" posted about a year ago. So we decided to film a follow up. Follow our CEO Elliot Daigneault as he takes you on another typical Monday leading one of Montreal's coolest tech startup. Included: Tip of the day, boring exec meetings, answering your comments and a new gym set!

Starting this comment thread being very clear that just had goosebumps deja vu's. You and I are quite similar individuals it's just that you started long back and I just started out. But the mindset and attention to detail that came across the video was literally mind-blowing. Posting this comment with the hope if we can figure out a way to collaborate in terms of CZcams as well as business.

It just makes it hard to deal with awesome positive comments like yours when they come though! I appreciate it. Thanks to much :)

This is great 👍🏾 I’m planning on doing similar but am still at university. How old were you when you started and how’d you do it ?

Hey! I was 23 years old when everything got started. It was back in 2015. How did I do it? wow, that would require a whole video to explain, but all in all, with asking myself some fundamental question, the likes of which would be: Is there a problem... and can I solve it?

Great video! What is your best advice for young tech startup CEOs working on their first company? It would be great to see a video on that! I just graduated from UC Santa Barbara and am now working on my startup, Coast, a social road trip app to enhance your travel experience!

Hey Lili. That's a great idea. Perhaps i'll get around to filming such a video some day :). But in short i'd say don't try to get it all perfect the first time around. It will be a learning curve and you will mess up. Move fast, adapt, stay lighweight/agile and surround yourself with extraordinary people that you admire. On another note, I would love to hear more about your own startup. Shoot me a dm on insta and tell me all about it :) @hrh_elliot

The role of a CEO is different depending on the stage of your startup. In the very early stages, when your team is just you, and your co-founder, and maybe one another employee, you're supposed to do pretty much everything. Ideally most of your time should be spent on talking to customers, or writing code (if you're technical). "Management" is not even a thing at this stage, because you don't have anyone to manage. But once you have 10+ employees, things starts getting different.
