My Lenny Kravitz Playlist! • Lenny Kravitz
In this Are You Gonna Go My Way guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play all of this Lenny Kravitz classic note-for-note.
The tuning is standard tuning. E A D G B E
This is a fun one! The main riff to "Are You Gonna Go My Way" uses a bunch of rapid bends, string skips and double stops to create a funky groove with a huge rock sound.
I will show you this riff and the octave up version that doubles it.
I will go through each riff in the song in the order that each appears on the original recording.
I will also show you how to play Craig David Ross' great solo. This solo can be a bit challenging and incorporates a lot of blues based rock licks.
I hope you guys enjoy this one! #areyougonnagomywayguitarlesson #lennykravitz #guitarcovers
Carl... - Hudba

That is actually getting the switch for the pick-ups and strumming it back and forth! I saw it in a guitar tab magazine years ago when I was learning it!

Absolutely nailed it! Great job and thanks
Thank you Carl for that lesson, I have always wanted to learn that song.
When you said you were going to do the song in one video I didn't think it was going to be possible. But, you did it and you did it well. Thanks for breaking down that solo so good. I've been wanting to learn that solo for a decade!
This one hurt my index finger after a while. Great song. The index finger bends though. Thanks for taking the time Carl.

Great tutorial Carl. I am going to have a go at this iconic song. I do wish however, that when you cover the solo aspects of you videos that you mention the chord/key behind the solo. It really helps if you get lost and need to improv while you work out where you are. Keep them coming 👍
Thanks Carl ❤️

Hi Carl! Regarding the pre-bends you show arround 14:02, maybe it is a good a idea to explain more about the "muting technique" to avoid the sound when you take the bend up, and create and actual pre-bend. Thanks man! Great video!

Craig Ross put this track down. He is nasty. Kravitz is average. I give credit to Kravitz for knowing talent when he sees it and keeping him in his band to this day.
You do realise Kravitz writes the songs yeah?
@@richo1234 Yeah. A few great songs, but mostly ultra stock mediocre rock songs featuring Craig Ross' great guitar playing.
@@Asshat237 think of all the wannabe rock stars over the past 70 years that never created anything special (including me and you). give Kravitz some more credit man.
@@richo1234 Craig Ross was the co-writer on this song with Lenny. So apparently it played to his strengths.
