Yup mud tires would be fine driving up as long as it is a 4x4. Sometime if it is snowing heavily it is recommended to have snow chain on tyres. But most of the time it would be fine.

I drove up with a snow chain on my front wheel drive mazda 6 with no problem. You will be fine as long as you get a snow chain only sometime when the snow is too heavy they recommend not to drive and only 4wd with a snow chain is allowed. They always mention on the board when u arrive there so u would be fine for most of the days.
