- Hello Everyone, Today I bring you the 16!
The 16 is operated by Metroline Travel using New Routemaster's from Cricklewood [W] Garage. The route goes from Brent Park, Neasden, Cricklewood, Kilburn, Maida Vale & then Paddington. The route is a renumbering of the 332. I do not like the renumbering because it was pointless anyways - it basically replaces the 332 completely... Why couldn't have they only just withdrew the 16 and extended 6 instead? They could have just diverted route 6 around Paddington to replace the withdrawn section of the 332??? Or they could have gone ahead to withdraw the 332 and extended the 16 from Cricklewood Bus Garage to Brent Park Tesco to replace the withdrawn section of the 332, but the change last year, (April 29th 2023) was as bad as the 427 cut.
Now attempting this route myself and editing it not in black and white, I can finally say that is a nice route to be fair and it is good to have a double digit number in the London Borough of Brent. The driver was following the speed limit throughout. I mean you can't really get thrash on this route because all Central London roads are capped to like 20mph along with the annoying "covid-19" cycle lanes - Thanks Sadiq Khan! Also, these buses aren't built for thrash. The route pretty much follows the A5 from Cricklewood to Edgware Road. The journey was smooth, only like 45 minutes which isn't bad on a Saturday Morning. But the bus was noisy from people chatting a LOT at Neasden as well. The roads in Neasden are to narrow for a Routemaster imo, we could barely squeeze past a 245. But the 111 passed through narrower parts with a LT New Routemaster.

Great visual JTB 👍I agree the 16/332 change was an L,a Victoria-Brent Park route would be much better,the renumbering was pointless.The 427 cut was way worse,they could have just extended the U7 from Hayes.These LT's cannot go on those back roads of Neasden anymore.also what editing app do you use?

Thank You Very Much! Yeah I agree about the 16/332 change being wrong, the 427 could've been kept as it was and the U7 could have been decked and extended; (whilst doing a loop at Hayes Sainsbury's).
The LT's are terrible around Neasden lol, I also use Kinemaster Pro.

If South, I suggest the S2 and the 439
If West, I suggest the H98 and the 140
If East, I suggest the 86 and the 97
If Central, I maybe suggest the 5, 8, 25 or even the 205.

It shares no stops with the 142.
Both routes do travel along the A5.
The 142 turns off at Staples Corner and the 16 comes on at Gladstone Park Gardens, just before Cricklewood Bus Garage, but the 32 can connect both routes.
The 32, (98% of its routing) - literally runs straight along the A5.
Great vid but i cant lie this route kinda mid now just a renumbering of the 332. Hope tfl could reroute it back to victora to how it was before.

I would have no problem about this change if they withdrew the 332 and extended the 16 from Cricklewood Bus Garage to Brent Park.
Therefore making a merged 16: Brent Park Superstores to Victoria (which can work).
As route 1 literally goes from Hampstead Heath in Camden all the way to Canada Water near Greenwich...
