    Great🙂 but,the chest mix was actually a head mix and the chest voice was a chest mix. Pure chest can't go that high.

      Disagree fundamentally but thanks for commenting. Your concept of mix is too heavy

    • @peponcio12
      @peponcio12 Před 11 měsíci +2

      I also perceive it that way, hence my question in another comment… you’re mostly using thin mass until “chest mix” in your example

    • @peponcio12
      @peponcio12 Před 11 měsíci +4

      It’s an A4… too high for pure chest without mixing

    • @SpencerWelchVocalStudio
      @SpencerWelchVocalStudio  Před 10 měsíci +3

      I spread the vowel and raised the larynx to boost the 2nd harmonic with the First Resonance (or Formant) so this is chest voice. It’s both the vocal fold thickness and acoustic tuning that determines

  • @juniorhuhh
    @juniorhuhh Před 26 dny

    Falsetto
    Head with a little chest
    Head with a little more chest
    Chest with a hint of head
    ( this is a bit of a stretch but it's almost like belting. Normally when you sing in higher parts of your voice even in chest you naturally have a really light head as a start )
    Also mixing is a technique that disguises your break

    Excellent display...
    Btw what is the note you sing : B4 ?
    If so, being a barritone, I have also managed to hit that note with chest voice like I did in the songs by Westlife :
    1. Flying Without Wings
    2. No Place That Far

      Nope, thick vocal folds + wide vocal tract (First Resonance paired with Second Harmonic) = Chest Voice

    Woah how do you get your chest voice so high

  • @peponcio12
    @peponcio12 Před 11 měsíci +1

    So the main difference between head voice and chest mix is that you let the airflow on thin mass pass through your mouth and nose at the same time right?

    • @SpencerWelchVocalStudio
      @SpencerWelchVocalStudio  Před 10 měsíci +2

      Oh no, no matter the register, most of the resonance is formed in the throat and mouth. And there always a small leakage behind the soft palate into the nasal cavity. Head and chest voice are determined by thickness of fold, closure of fold, and which resonances boost or attenuate which harmonics in the vocal tract

      @@docmcfly3933 What is your concern, that you sound too nasal?

    • @docmcfly3933
      @docmcfly3933 Před 7 měsíci

      Yes. It seems to happen mostly when I go high. It's probably from the fact that I started practicing by imitating my favorite singers. I do seem to be growing out of it, but every now and then, I'll still get a bit nasal. I've managed to open my tone up a bit, I just want to figure out how to eliminate the the nasality 100% (If such a word exists)

    • @SpencerWelchVocalStudio

      Same pitch but the tone is changing and sometimes the volume because falsetto is lighter while chest is more like yelling when on a high notes. I like chest mix too but all depends what you are trying to do in the song.
