    The R Rating was from deleted scenes where Daphne gets her soul yoinked (because they thought it was too scary for kids; I saw the scene on CZcams, not sure if it’s still there, and it’s pretty tame) and because apparently there was a scene where Daphne and Velma kissed/“made out” (not sure which version is true) because that’s how they swapped body’s back.

    I remember Doug Walker calling this movie 'mean spirited', which is code for 'I didn't personally like this but I don't have a concrete reason why it's bad'. In other words, he hates it for no reason whatsoever.

    • @kidwolf0015
      @kidwolf0015 Před rokem +2

      Code for all people or for him specifically?
      Cuz I adore Chicken Little, but I got to admit that movie actually *is* mean spirited... Quite litterally everyone except for the baby alien (and maybe Fish Out of Water) are total jerks to everyone around them just because they want to be. This seems to be somewhat balanced by the fact that everyone considers it normal in-universe, but it doesn't change the fact that movie is clearly meant to have a "agnsty" tone. Like even the one character who is objectively the victim (Chicken Little) is still a selfish, short-sighted little brat.
      Ironically... I think that's actually the reason why I related/still relate to it so much. Some childhoods are just completely saturated with egotistical jerks like the ones in Chicken Little.

    • @SBaby
      @SBaby Před rokem +1

      @@kidwolf0015 Pretty much anyone that uses the words, 'Mean-Spirited'. That phrase has no single concrete meaning and could be used to describe any form of media with any kind of conflict in it.

      @@SBaby hmmm... Looks like I need a better word for a movie where "everyone is designed to be a self-centered, egotist, that likes to harass everyone around them with means such as social punishment for being slighty different, constant verbal abuse, neglect/abandonment, etc". Makes it weirder when you're trying to explain such a trait for a movie you actually like...
      I don't think that "angsty" is an accurate enough word to describe a movie like Chicken Little though.... Like there's definitely something up with how selfishly mean all of the characters are but I wouldn't even consider it a "bad thing". That seems to be the entire point... as if they all represent the "ugly side" of humanity.

    • @SBaby
      @SBaby Před rokem +1

      @@kidwolf0015 It's better than saying 'mean spirited'. That term can literally apply to anything with any kind of conflict in it. You could use it to describe 90 percent of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and that's one of the best Switch games ever made.

    As a kid, I was unhappy that films show the cast names in the beginning when they don't tell/show us who they're playing as. Scooby-Doo The Mystery Begins gives me joy that they put the actors' names over the characters they playing 😊
