So glad it went well and to see improvements already.
underwent Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy surgery in 2005 at St. Louis Children’s Hospital also. I am now 22 years old and The surgery was the best decision my parents could’ve ever made. I’m glad your daughter was able to have it and I’m confident that the improvements it will make in her quality of life not just in the short term but in the long term 100% worth it. A good example for me is doctor Parker apparently told my parents when he was in the consult for the procedure originally that I would be in a wheelchair by the age of 15 without the surgery. I still use a wheelchair as a junior in college just for mobility as a means of practically in a large college campus. I also use for him crutches/no assistive device for shorter distances as I am able to walk independently which was a challenge pre-SDR.
Thank you for sharing your story. We hope she benefits from this surgery for a long time too ❤️
So glad it's going well. 🙏💕🙏
Awesome. Praying for you guys.
I saw your recent "short" video about Annie's improvement and I had to find out what SDR surgery was! I'm a retired nurse and I didn't know! Thank you for educating me!
It has been such a miracle for her!

Glad surgery is behind you and the focus can be on recovery! You're a very brave girl, Annie!
Than you for the update!
So thankful to the Lord for the medical team and the hospitality of your brother and sister in law ! Cont’d prayers for Annie💖🙌in Charleston SC.
I usually listen to your videos first thing in the morning over coffee. The video was very informative but I had to turn off the music the first half of the video, I am praying this will be a big help to Annie.
We are seeing positive outcomes already ❤️
Way to go Annie! My daughter 8s a Girl Scout and she would love to send Annie a box of cookie for being so strong and brave. What kind of cookies does she like?
Annie has never met a cookie she didn’t like 😂. I’m sure she would love whatever your daughter thinks is the yummiest!
Yes, yes, yes on the hospital food and beverages! We typically have a spare can of coffee in the pantry and one gets tossed in the car on the way 'cause you can often find a pot to use in a larger hospital; I drink mix with water hot cocoa mix with my coffee so a can of that gets tossed in the car too. If its more of a planned event, I pop a box of regular tea bags and some sugsr in the vehicle too. If you can't find a coffee pot, you can find a microwave. I like to toss a big container or two of apple sauce in the vehicle if there's time too.
Surgery and Day 1 down with everything looking pretty good - Yipee!! I'll say a word of thanks and hopes for the next days.
That’s a great idea! We spend enough time in and out of the hospital I probably should have a “hospital box” in the pantry to save us some dollars on food!
@@TealHouseFarm i used to use the plastic, re-usable grocery totes. For a while and when there was a car, they lived packed in the trunk. Then they moved into the house and now, they aren't even lre-packed. Don't forget at least one extra pair of socks and undies for all that might go.
Ask the nurse to have the social worker bring you food vouchers they are free. The RMH should have quick snack foods also.
Thank you! I didn’t know about this and will ask 🥰
