  • Today I walk you through a Hotjar tutorial and show you how to analyse your website user behavior.
If you’re starting your online business journey, I’ve put together this checklist of all the tools I use to help you along the way ►► www.timpeakman.com/tools
If you want to ethically spy on those people who navigate through your website in order to make it the best possible user experience, you’re in the right place.
It’s so important to understand how people are using your website and navigating through all of your landing pages, so that you can serve them better, get them results in advance and ultimately turn them into customers.
You can get some really great data on user behaviour across your entire website by using a tool called Hotjar. It just requires a small amount of code that you simply copy and paste into the page scripts on your hosting software.
    In this tutorial, I share:
    1. How to install Hotjar onto your website to ethically spy on your digital visitors.
    2. How to use heatmaps to study trends on how your visitors interact with your website.
    3. How you can take this data to improve your website and user experience.
    4. And a whole bunch more…
Just remember, if you’re taking this online business seriously, you should be letting the data drive your decisions about how to improve your products and services, and ultimately the overall user experience when someone interacts with your personal brand.
Enjoy the process, no matter the outcome.
    Tim.

To me it feels like a tool I'd want to try once initially, and then going forward just using it after eachtime we've made any changes to the website if that makes sense. Would best practice be just doing the free trial initially and go from there? Secondly, if your website has a high number of visitors, would you recommend paying to match that, or okay using a cheaper option and essentially take a smaller sample size?

Hey Jack, great questions, thanks for posting. I would definitely recommend starting with the Hotjar free trial first, then go from there. I don’t use paid ads, but you could potentially supplement to increase your website visitors. The larger the numbers the more reliable they are. Hope this helps. 🤓
