- This is a video of how to install a spare tire carrier assembly and full size spare tire for a 2021 Kia Sorento. I ordered the assembly through my local Kia dealership. I got the wheel from eBay and the tire locally.

I have seen this assembly on the Kia.Parts website as well.

Great video! Thanks for sharing! I can’t begin to tell you how stupid I feel for buying a high end Kia Sorento without knowing it didn’t have a spare. This is my second road trip vacation with a flat as I sit at a tire shop wasting my life away getting a tire fixed. I’m ordering a carrier assembly ASAP!

Finally some good content for Sorento 21. I have been looking for spare tire hoist since my Sorento 2021 did not come with it and it is too expensive if you go to a dealer. I just ordered mine now i know how to install it properly thanks!
I had the same issue so after getting everything I needed I figured it could others with the same dilemma.

The donuts tire fits with the factory hitch installed on both the Santa Fe 2022 and 2021-2 Sorento. I have the Sorento my brother has the Sante fe ( Hybrid) and we both installed the kit ($141) and tire ( $130 on eBay). The spare tire is 29" in diameter, so it is possible the full size tire may fit.
Just to confirm this parts can be installed on the hybrid without problem? All holes are already there ? No modification needed?
@@Tarek2002eg My brothers is a Hybrid, so yes.
I’ve read on the SF owners forums that either a donut or full size spare will fit with a hitch installed, however it seems to work better with an OEM hitch instead of aftermarket (Curt, etc.).

Great video - Question - Can you use the same mounting bracket that was used 2014-2020?
I’m not sure if you would be able to use that bracket for the newer Sorento. You would have to see what the part number is.
I see that Kia and Hyundai share same part # !

Great video with good camera angles. Have you had any issues the the lower ground clearance of the full size spare tire? Nice shot of the tire against the forward bracket. I was wondering how the tire pressed against that forward bracket hanging down from the car's frame. I ordered the carrier from Kia Parts Superstore for $400 Canadian. I have full sets of both winter and summer tires on rims so hope to mount the 'off season' tire as the spare, as the car travels highways where a donut spare or inflation foam stuff might not be reliable.
I haven’t had any issues with ground clearance and the tire has stayed snugly in place. Definitely happy I added the full size spare.

As a side note I kept the “tire mobility kit” in the car in case I need to use the inflator.
Will this kit be also used for the Hyundai Santa Fe calligraphy model...👍
Yes. I added a donut spare to my ‘21 Calligraphy. A full size spare will work also.
So your car is a hybrid with tyre mobility kit only and you managed to do this modification ? just confirm please because i have the hybrid as well
No, mine is the 2.5 Turbo but only came with the tire mobility kit.

@@Tarek2002egI follow the Hyundai Santa Fe forums which has an identical chassis. From what I’ve read this will work on the hybrid so I’m assuming it will on a Sorento.

My dealer told me that full size spare will not fit. do you think the full size spare will not be a problem if i install a hitch?
I was told that you have to go with a donut if you want or already have a hitch. The full size spare to my knowledge does not allow room for a hitch.

Where did you get your carrier? I have just bought a spare tire and jack for CAD190. My problem now is it will cost me $500+ if I buy the carrier from my stealership. I have tried other stealerships here in Canada and they are all the same price. Some of them told me that I can't buy the carrier alone, it has to be a kit.

@@edwardfernandez9977 I got mine from the dealership and it was $217 USD. My dealership said there wasn’t a kit available so the pulled up the parts list from a model that has the spare tire.

I searched eBay for “2021 Kia Sorento 20” wheel”.
the wheel you used is the original? bone is the same as the other wheels and thanks for the help
@@michelventurapena9220 yes I went with an OEM wheel so the spare would match the others. The one I bought said it was “reconditioned” but I couldn’t tell that it wasn’t brand new. The dealer quoted me over $500 for just the wheel.
