  • We experience the Beijing metro... Having experienced the super modern Shanghai metro, which is arguably the most modern metro in the world.
We take a hop on China's metro - take a look at how the station looks, the trains feel and the price of a train ticket.

I have met a young couple in Thailand recently. They were from US and flow to Singapore and they were traveling from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and then to Cambodia and Vietnam and before going back to US.
We have happened to have a casual friendly conversation and I have asked them since they are so near to China, why not go to China just for a few days to see China. I told them China is very interesting. But I was surprised of what they told me.
They said according to all their media reports in US and advice by their government and many other people. They were advice and told not to travel to China. Even their parents don't allow them to go to China. They were told China is not a safe country to travel. Very dirty, poor rundown infrastructures, poor transportation system, polluted, homeless people are everywhere waiting to rob tourists are common even in broad daylight. Chances of been detained for no reason by the Communist government is very high. Because China is an authoritarian state and all foreign visitors are monitored by thousands of cameras everywhere and every minute where foreign visitors go. Foreign visitors from western countries can be detained for months or even years for no reason.
All these is what they know about China. The couple is like below 25 years of age and already so badly brainwashed by their government and controlled media. This is really sad.

For a long time, escalators in China used to stand on the left side and rush on the right side. Two years ago, it was still like this. But two years ago, there was an elevator accident caused by severe wear and tear on one side of the escalator. Hello Pat & Giulia~
Thank you for sharing such a nice video.
There are some comment said that you've been overcharged for the two drinks of 60 yuan. Actually, there is a misunderstanding. Please allow me to explain it to you.
First, the lady didn't cheat you on the price. She list the price in the store as well as the Mei Tuan app which is an app for people to search and order food in the Internet. The price I can see is just what you paid. 30 yuan per cup. The drink is called"Gui Hua Lao Zao". It's a kind of rice alcohol mixed with sweet osmanthus jam and water.
Second, there is a huge price difference among China. For example, a bowl of noodle in Beijing is around 50 yuan while the same one in Xi'an is just about 25 yuan. Some people didn't realize that. They judged the drink's price by comparing with their local price.
Third, the store is famous in the social media areas for its handmade foods and drinks. I can see many post and introduction in different apps. I think this is the major reason why the price is a litte higher.
That's all. Hope it can help you.

I feel that the blogger is very concerned about not photographing the police. Sincerely, it doesn't matter. Just treat them as passers-by. With the exception of crowded areas such as airports and train stations, where armed police are deployed for fear of security incidents, most of the uniformed guys you see on the streets are unarmed. They don't bother you for no reason, especially if you look like a tourist. And you are.
In fact, a thin guy like me, but walking like a soldier, is more likely to be cross-examined. Because the guy is too thin, and at the same time seems to have military training, in China, it is more likely that he was once thrown into prison for drug use. Incredibly thin is unacceptable in China, and it's hard to see a guy on the street who doesn't have enough to eat.

To be honest, I have watched a lot of videos about foreigners traveling in China, only this couple with basic respect for China, without saying "I thought there was something wrong with China, I didn't expect China to be so good." I feel that the bloggers who say such things are biased against China before they come here and feel that it is not so good, so the expectations are also low. Nor have they always emphasized how much they like China, to make a comparison, "China is good in a certain aspect, and a certain country is bad in this aspect." . This is very good, foreigners do not need to love this country, as long as they break the prejudice, harvest a wonderful journey, and will share with their family and friends to introduce China, it is enough.

I beg to differ. I like bloggers to be surprised that they have been lied to about China all their lives. I want to see all those biases disappear. That's why I like to see those expression. It is priceless. You don't have to like China but you don't have to hate China because of all those lies propagated by Western media and politicians. Unfortunately, most of the audiences in all these China'a videos made by travel bloggers, are Chinese or Overseas Chinese. Not many have reached the non Chinese audience judging from the comments. I hope I am wrong.
