Vanguard sound is to PGR what Mick Gordon is to DOOM. They’re like the perfect icing on top of the PGR cake. It wouldn’t be the same without those guys

it is said that the legendary OST national anthem is part of what make PGR survive during the first ever even patch .. Alpha banner with banger called Narwhal
Narwhal is the OST that even the non-PGR players (like me), know and love. It's one of the best battle music that i ever listen.
its PHENOMENAL! I can see why everyone loves this song for sure!
Listen to hikari too then. It has a more "Epic man vs god" feel that Maxor used it exactly like that
Narwhal is PGR's anthem at this point, no buts, it's just that glorious. And you can't go wrong with Lamia, i love that boss fight to death. If i need a daily boost, i just listen to those two + Dust, and bam, motivated.
what I love about *lamia* is that in part 3 (boss battle) the song calls Lamia's name in the drop, calling to her with a scream "lamia, welcome home" (6:29) so fitting with what happends in the story! and well, Narwhal is PGR anthem for a reason (actually you could say that it saved PGR in their beginnings) is just so good!
Nowdays the music of PGR never misses, every patch the bar just goes higher and higher and they keep delivering, is just *cheff kiss*
Another interesting fact is that every theme (of the bosses) IS about the bosses, all the OST/BGM of a chapter is about the boss almost always, the theme, the atmosphere, but, the only theme that is not about a boss is HIKARI and it is for a reason, I hope you find out why it's like that in the game!
if you want more context for Narwhal, play the Firn Nigth and Frozen Darkness in extra stroy, also as for the music and the meaning for the PGR players, it's basicly the anthem for us :D the reason is if i remember correctly is that the game was originall falling abit behind and was dancing on an edge if it can stay alive, and for the first CN anniversary the released Frozen Darkness, it was a huge succes + a banger and kept the game alive and now the game is also out on global and going really well

You can see how the Narwhal means so much to them to the point that they brought it over to WW as well

PGR music is incredibly detailed. I loved Lamia when I first listen to it but after playing Chapter 15, (I won't spoil of course) listening to it hits different. Btw, wonderful reaction Georgie! I'm glad to see a fellow PGR fan enjoying the music as I did.

Narwhal was for a limited time event, but it’s basically become the anthem for the entire game. It’s SO GOOD.
I'm glad I played all of the events. But these events should be replayable.
@@NeoZeta It is replayable. Firn night is in EX chapters and Rosetta is a regular boss in PPC and in Celica's Class to farm ad infinitum. The only thing that isn't replayable is the event minigames and farming stages that were around at the event which while isn't exactly the same all the time do get rerun such as the co-op minigame in current patch global.
@@Kanethedragon no, I know. It was badly phrased. I meant that they should be available to be replayed (unless something is off). That "should" kinda of might imply that they aren't, but it wasn't the intention, it was more to indicate doubt.

the narwhal music and its event literally saved this game, they intend to release alpha on the 1st anniv but with the bad start and many issues they release it early and glad to be effective

Narwhal is such a bop. I stopped playing PGR sadly, but I did actually manage to pull Alpha when this event came out and played the boss fight to that song WITH the featured character, so it was SO COOL and lore accurate.
Normal Narwhal is pretty good but I like the mix they did for the Firn Night patch (it takes place after the Frozen Darkness patch which released Alpha and Rosetta as a Boss ) it's an Amazing variation of the Normal Narwhal track

Also that is indeed what Narwhals sound like. (PS wuthering waves also has a narwhal enemy)
Also the patch that narwhal dropped literally saved pgr. That boss fight and story was top notch.

@@georgieegames It's in the "Extra story" under Frozen in Darkness. I guess you should have to finish specific main story quest before you can play it
Pretty sure after finishing Chapter 8 Hidden you can play through this extra story.
@@georgieegames PGR was struggling back then when it was released, when Narwhal patch dropped and Alpha got released it saved the game from shutting down, similar how Final Fantasy saved Square Enix.
Most of these 'patch tracks' are basically three or four individual songs in one that you hear throughout the chapter: parts of the song are in the standard battles (the non-boss fights), and then the 'chorus' or beat drop is typically a part of the boss fight, and sometimes the boss fights are split into two phases. For the later patches there are some earlier slower parts that are either 'menu music' or background tracks during tense moments of the story. The beginning part of this song is what plays in the menu theme (which you can change in the home screen btw, by clicking on the music icon in the upper left part of the screen; Narwhal in particular has an awesome lofi-like remix that you should check out) and the start of the 'chorus' before the beat drop are what plays during the big boss fight.
Honestly a lot of the tracks are bangers - any one of them could be appreciated on their own and they're even better in context of the fights and story. If you ever look to do more reactions I'd highly recommend Hikari (my personal favorite; I like it even more than Narwhal), Sie Liebten Sich Beide, Last Resort, Dust, Edenis, Exorcism, Revelation, Under Dimension, Left Unsaid (which was just in a trailer but is a banger nonetheless) and Dream With You (for something different).
Whenever I listen to these songs I can't help but get goosebumps, especially on the beat drops and choir vocals kick in.

- In the plot she repeatedly demonstrates abilities to conjure solid, liquid, and gaseous matter into complex shapes instantly.
- She looks annoyed at the rain, and so she forms an umbrella out of airborne micro-particles...
She is by far my favorite Ascendant. She is not malevolent, she just wants to survive, she can shapeshift both herself and her environment to win the mission. I do hope that we can recruit her later!

Great vids, also we know you've watched the "Lee Hyperreal no-dmg boss fight", you said it makes you nervous and want to fight the boss soon, then i recommended to listen to that Vanguard Studio "Under Dimension" OST, it gives me goosebumps & the 'fear-inducing' sound effect is there when fighting the "Demi-God"

Anyways , if you listen to the choir(or whatever it is) carefully , you can hear "Lamiaaa... welcome home" as it is written in the story "Welcome home , Lamia" but nothing remains in the laboratory.

It sounds like the music is basically a message for Lamia from the scientists.
So far Lamia is the song that goes the hardest by a long shot, that song gives me all the motivation I need to slap the hell out of every boss
You don't need lyrics in a song to make it a banger. Kuro and VGS know this very well with each PGR BGM.
As far as I know, both the tracks you listened to have no lyrics. What you were commenting on is an awesome sound effect they put in to give you the idea of "whispers in the dark." At least that's how I took it since I first heard it Luna's patch theme fake ascension. Lamia is the final boss theme of the last spark chapter and narwhal appears in a few points throughout frozen darkness and firn night which are both EX chapters.
If someone tells you to listen to the Moon song, don’t. Save it for that special moment in the story.
This and Gaze of Wind. Those are two songs that should be kept for their respective chapters for sure.

Pgr music hit different, especially when it's played during the boss fights the emotions are amplified. Definitely react to more of em!
I also recommend hamlets boss fight music. Classic opera with tech atmospher.

You should definitely react to some Surviving Lucem music because those are also bops! My favorite is Ascending, but Gaze of the Wind is also amazing (it has lyrics btw)

@@georgieegames Don't read comments there. Honestly, most of these can be pretty dangerous territory, unless you don't mind spoilers. P:GR's story only really kicks in after Chapter 9, and you'll see things making sense and coming full circle from there on. So, it's better to read spoiler-free, in my opinion. Hikari, luckily in fact has more Elden Ring comments than most, because some CZcamsr uses P:GR songs in his videos, I think, but still, it's a song for a crucial moment so it's full of spoilers.

Just fyi, yes, those sounds at the beginning are whale sounds. It’s meant to be a not-so-subtle nod to the title of the song. Also, “the narwhal” is a giant android machine that features heavily in the plot of that event.
10:24 - Damn, I don't even have Rosetta, and I've been playing since launch. lol I've got Alpha, though. So, I can always go beat Rosetta while listening to Narwhal. XD
10:55 - That's Alpha... but well... yeah. And it's Rosetta theme song (as a boss, yeah), but it's also Alpha's. Because it's a story between the two.
