Soviet actually asked patrions to record the opening dialogue to get the best mix of voices for the news reports for this episode. :) FYI
So freaking cool. We'll have to look to him for patreon inspiration:)
@@ChicagoReacts "Patrion" Patreon sorry for the misspelling.
Some context for the "tourists" bit:
A bunch of devs from Bohemia Interactive (the studio behind ArmA) went to Greece on vacation. While they were there, they took some pictures of the landscape as reference material for the map designers.
But because a.) they were talking about military bases, weapons etc. and b.) taking pictures of an area with an _actual greek military base_ in it (although I believe they didn't even realize they'd done that) they got grabbed by the police and spent some months in prison until somebody _finally_ realized that the espionage charges were never going to stick and let them go.
imagine being imprisoned for Game Dev research
Don't you have to have to be employed by a government to be able to commit espionage?
Or are they just calling everyone with a camera or notepad an enemy?
Because if it's the latter then they're in need of a stern talking to.
@@0GregorSchultz0 Must've felt like a vacation compared to game development
If you want a really weird game prediction, check out about the first Ghost Recon game. Made in 2001, it’s about stopping Russia backed South Ossetia separatists in Georgia that Russia is using as a pretext to invade and take at least part of Georgia. It was set in April 2008. They missed the actual Russo-invasion war (which was, yep, in “support of south Ossetian separatists”) by… 4 months.
Ah yes the og ghost recon, had a blast playing that as a kid. Sad to see where the series went.
Putin is a gamer, clearly
Thats because none of these occurences are strange or unexpected. These conflicts are usually a decade + in the making, and anyone with some knoweledge and sense can see them coming. It doesn't take a genius or an oracle to realize that Russia will respond aggressively to NATO expansion on their borders. The only people in the know who didn't see this coming were willfully ignoring the warning signs because they wanted to keep pushing the line.
I know it wasn’t intentional. But saying, “The HINDsight” right after the helicopter clip was a well placed pun.
Would have been better if it was actually a Hind.
9:00 Digby is singing 'Men of Harlech' and old Welsh battle song now famous for being sung at the battle of Rorkes Drift
The intro is a big reminder that as much as we use it as some form of adult lego-sandbox thing, Arma 3, and the limitless creativity it allows, can get scary real.
This is SovietWomble's magnum opus i.m.o.
2:35 Russia was conquering the Crimea around the time this came out; memory isn't clairvoyance.
100% agree with you. dude has transcended the 'bullshittery' part. this is a short film
Yup!! Best bullshittery yet. I hope he does the same if the Patreons even pick Halo as the next bit.
I've watched all of those halo streams on the vods and they are THE BEST!!. Harry became my favorite bc if it
As a bullshittery absolutely
6:15 "Aim towards the enemy' -Instructions printed on US rocket launcher
10:25 "A slipping gear could let your M203 grenade launcher fire when
you least expect it. That would make you quite unpopular in what's left of
your unit." -US Army, magazine on preventative maintenance
term of the day: minimum arming distance
because even if you don't care about your survival, your weapon still does
Finally, the masterpiece that is Arma 3 Bullshittery Part 9, and uploaded in the perfect time for me to watch while eating dinner.
I mean, it’s not hard to assume that Russia would invade some stuff. Pretty much just pick any nation that they owned within the past 500 years and there’s a good chance that they would want it back.
This video was also made about 4 years after Russia invaded Crimea, which is what this was really based on. There's even mention of them having a vote to join Russia at the end like with Crimea.
Sad as it is, the main reason the war in Ukraine got publicity is because it's too close to home for the EU ignore. It's hardly the first such invasion Russia launched in the past decades, it's just the one that threatens to reach EU turf.
@@AshHill07 Yeah, I heard that the translation for Putins speech at the end was basically all correct except for the specifically zf stuff...
Look out Alaska.
May I recommend the We Were Here Bullsh*ttery for Kelsey? It's all Soviet-Cyanide back-and-forth since it's a two player co-op game, I figure she'd enjoy it.
Arma being used to make 'totally real war footage' is oooold news. Earliest I can remember that happening was 2012 I think? Honestly, some of these early clips actually had a lot of effort put into their composition to hide that they were, in fact, taken from a video game. I think a lot of the more recent stuff done with Arma3 that showed up was made as a joke, and then maybe picked up by morons.
I've seen DCS gameplay passed off as actual footage in the Ukraine conflict.
@@SudsyMedusa53 Seriously? I love DCS, marvelous simulation, I don't find it particularly hard to believe that people would buy DCS footage as being real life when there are actually people out there falling for ArmA3 videos...
War Thunder user made content has been portrayed as actual war footage as well: czcams.com/users/shortstT0s3VSHGt0?feature=share
Even earlier than that, Arma 2 was used for "real footage" of IRA attacks
Honestly among the many good videos from Soviet, this one stands out
It truly seems to be the most widely cherished:)
The opening news reports has some serious Command and Conquer feel about them with that opening have new reels and such and giving the impression of your character just flicking channels as information is given to you, even the TV change sound is the same.
I've wanted a reaction for this video for so long. This whole video goes south so fast. Thank you for giving us this blessed/Cursed Reaction!
"I'm naming him Roberto!" always kills me, it's just perfect.
honestly those civilians made it feel like it was a zombie apocalypse :') that or a horror film
23:13 literally the exact way Goblins raid villages in Goblin Slayer
M.I.L.F. (Moro Islamic) is actually a thing before it was changed into M.N.L.F and N stands for National in the Philippines
Did anybody count how many times The Badgers violated the Geneva Convention?
I’d like to recommend RubixRaptor’s Arma 3 videos, which are basically more chaotic Sovietwomble with more Americans, explosions, and memes.
Guarantee y’all will love ‘em!
Chicago shall know the true horror of Provins.
@@GaldirEonai And shall see the chaos of Fort Night 2, lmao!
I think she needs to watch every episode of soviets alien isolation series so she gets a taste of how a real man games
there is a dayz bullshittery episode that also aged well
it was about being immune to the zombie virus because they were wearing a mask
Regarding how eerily similar the theme of the video is to current events... it's almost as if everyone knows exactly how Russia behaves, thanks to this lovely thing called history.
Pay attention in history class, kids.
P A T T E R N R E C O G N I T I O N
This lecture from a finnish intel colonel really opened my eyes in a lot of ways, would recommend checking
czcams.com/video/kF9KretXqJw/video.html
Eng and a whole bunch of other subs available. Good to keep in mind this was made in 2018, very prophetic.
Yes its really scare how accurate this is but at the same time, russias behavior is really predictable once you take a look at how they act. But tbh, scary enough...
Considering MILF was an actual group until 2014, someone might hit the Badgers with a copyright suit for co-opting the name :)) It's prob for the best Womble was so against it.
They are a Muslim terrorist group in the Philippines and they still exist. They didn't magically cease existing in 2014.
Kelsey kontent yay 😁
Here it is boys! The one we've all been waiting for!
Not to worry ZF to the rescue
I Just cannot tell a difference between Moogle and Quebec voices they are almost the same
The intro news was great cuz it’s pretty legit but in detail makes no sense. 477 sq km, but home to 44,000 is literally 0.01 sq km per person
2:25 tbf Russia has been like that since the start of the soviet union
Whats spooky is , some real media actually use footage from Arma3 to spread misinformation on the News . Thats how scary this game is if you being too creative on video producing and editing .
Is there going to be a reaction of Jontron Kid Nation part 2 with the older Jimmy talking about Bonanza in 2007?
9:50 i can see we both have different opinions on what scat is XD
This video is a work of art from Soviet
FINALLY!!!! YESSS
It was a long-time comin lol
Fun Fact:
Yes, there is a movie called "Battle Royale" made in Japan. It's about a bunch of Highschool Students being forced into a, Battle Royale, and kill each other.
I won't spoil much since I'd prefer that YOU watch the whole thing yourself and decide whether it's a good movie or not, but let's just say the amount of raw emotion, acting and the ending left me wanting MORE.
Recommend this movie for Chicago Reacts Movies and TVs.
If y’all want more awesome Arma3 content I highly recommend Rubixraptor. He does a lot more modding and different settings such as halo, Star Wars, Warhammer 40k and SCP, as well as original settings. They have a lot of fun in the same vein as Sovietwomble.
Finally, the pièce de résistance!
1:05....did you just say"Comfersation"
Womble somewhat predicted the future
This video is wild nowadays. Jesus life imitates art
Art imitates history.
Back in a day, where was reaction on The Lord of the Rings game by Mandalore Gaming. I suggest his WH40K:Mechanicus rewiew, more of his content and more of Warhammer
I think some videos from "Vinny" or "Jerma" would be great to react to
Finally
She really needs to watch martincitopants new ksp video
Don't worry, we're on it;) Just had to get through this wonderful series first
@@ChicagoReacts awesome
video seems a little quiet compared to your mic volume
Watch part 4 of martincitopants’ kerbal space program series
I miss you where are you I haven't seen you in a year or more
There's a bit too much of a volume difference between her and the video, her audio being too loud :P
7:50 what the fuck was that bad pun (sotto voce: i think it was ok tho)
Man, that intro aged like milk, didn’t it?
i think the name of that island needs changing thing something with a U would fit
Can you do part 10❤
if you like funny arma 3 video i suggest reacting to Rubixraptor he's video are very fun
Please react to random Day Z bullshittery, they are way funnier than Arma.
You should watch possum reacts
Please react to random dayz bullshittery.
K now thats over is it good to react to ksp 4 from martincitopants.
oh jesus, that intro did NOT AGE WELL
Nah, don't speak of warcrimes.
well... Ukraine used in-game video to promote their "war achievements" as if it was real-life tape...
Cope, vatnik
