  • In this video I open and play with a new shop toy a prime weld cut60 it’s a true blow back start 60 amp plasma cutting machine. They’re capable of up to 7/8ths inch but you can sure push it through an inch if you feel like it. I review the full thing front to back with unboxing. I’ll include a link if you’re interested overall with a set of aftermarket drag tips I think I spent 815$ considering the capabilities and customer support provided with the machine? That’s a stellar deal. You also get a 3 year warranty witch is hard to beat. PRIMEWELD CUT60 60Amp Non-Touch Pilot Arc PT60 Torch Plasma Cutter 110V/220V Dual Voltage 3 Year Warranty a.co/d/jiCBIDz

I would try running at the full setting and even dial up the psi of your air flow by 1 to 3 psi. Also I wouldnt be afraid of moving a bit more quickly with the cutting speed at those settings. It should give you an almost drossless cut with less of the flow lines showing. In my experience faster cuts at proper setting give better results.(but yes slower speeds are necessary sometimes when the machine struggles to keep up) I'm a welder fabricator professionally for 16 years and now run my companies Dragon A400.(Amazing machine if you have time to look at it.)

Looks good. What size compressor do you need to operate this unit?

I personally have an 80 gallon upright I’d recommend any sort of 30-35 gallon the most important part is having a dryer however dry air is very important

Ive never owned a plasma cutter before and i bought the primeweld AC/DC machine last year. Will the plasma cutter cut 1/4 aluminum? What causes the consumables to go bad/wear out?

Yes that’s the upside of plasma over a torch is it’ll every type of metal and just general arc wear you’re pushing a super heated stream of plasma across the air consumables are just that wear items with regular life spans lol 😂 that being said they’re cheep and easly replaced
