Bro, it’s easier said than done. The cost of production in Nepal often exceeds that of imported goods from China, making it challenging for consumers to justify paying more. Just take example of Nepali businesses, like huba or sonam, they tend to be more expensive than the imported alternatives. Who’d pay 6/7k for a basic jacket or shirt when we can easily get those goods for 1500 when imported from china. If you’re so concerned about the country, why don’t you give us some really productive ideas that we can afford to produce in nepal. I am out of my wits, I don’t think you earning from a simple CZcams channel is going to change anything. So kindly, give us practical ideas for affordable products that can be produced locally. I am also eager to contribute but finding viable ideas seems elusive. Additionally, as you mentioned, data indicates that people are relying on remittances for their daily necessities. In such circumstances, what alternative do you propose? Do you anticipate that they should starve themselves in order to invest their funds into a business?
Well said. All things ideas and information which WSO said in this video, I’ve already heard them when I was in school. And I have always wondered how these ideas can be applied practically. we’ve got no ideas and the starting point seems to be nowhere. It would have been great if channel like WSO would give more detail information on how to actually apply all these ideas.
next video on different awareness that you said should be elaborated and what kind of policies with example and the last one why it is hard to open a manufacturing hub rather that a small shop !! thank you great video !!
Great Video as always Binayak Dai. I would be very much interested in knowing how the rise of AI & Automation will change the calculus of this fragile economy of ours. Since the major source of our dollar reserves are from employment from Gulf Countries, majority of Low-skilled as well as Semi-Skilled jobs will be in the first line of being Automated which will substantially reduce the number of such jobs and thus dramatically reduce the reserves and we all know the consequences of that. Nepal winning AI War is out of questions since they arent even a participant unlike India/China. Nepal Govt's half the budget goes to feed and cloth the current Politicians and Bureaucrats,so sustaining all 3crore population by Govt is out of question. I as a 22 years old youth can't see any other option than flying and settling abroad. Hoping to see a follow-up on this topic and once again Great video.

Actually you are completely wrong. The first jobs to be automated by AI will be office related jobs. Software Engineering will be heavily automated in the next 10 years because it is based on language which LLMs like Chat-GPT are built for. Foreign countries will not need engineers from poorer countries like Nepal. On the other hand, manual labor is very difficult for AI to automate. We are slowly developing technology to do that with robotics, but that industry is still in its infancy, and it will be very expensive for awhile. AI is a much more direct threat right now to software engineering, finance, accounting, content, medical and many other jobs that are considered stable now for college graduates. I think in the future it will be very difficult for young people to immigrate to places like the United States because the people in the US will not want foreigners to take their jobs when there is employment scarcity created by AI. The US population will force politicians to cut down programs like H1B visas. Also, you have to consider birth rates, places like Japan and Korea have horrible birth rates, they will need more and more labor not less. There are many countries in a heavy population deficit, this is an existential crisis for these countries, they will need labor desperately in the coming years. Countries like Nepal with a relatively stable birth rate and cheap labor will be able to export people to do labor intensive jobs for a long time until robotics gets cheap enough that it is no longer necessary. It will take at least another 20-30+ years for robotics to get so cheap that they can eliminate physical human labor. When that happens, I agree with you, then Nepal is really in trouble. Hopefully by then there will be more production and Nepal can switch to a more sustainable economy, good thing is there is still a lot of time to turn things around.
Bro I watched this video twice really informative. Keep on making such video, government should eye on export and production sector and many more. Excellent video ❤
