      Hi there, I'm not 100% sure anymore as I no longer own the GH4 but if I remember correctly, if you skip the convert the camera should still save all of the images from that timelapse on the sd card. I don't believe you can go back and make the timelapse in the camera later but you can import those images into premiere or other editing software to make the timelapse after. I hope that helps

Mine did not stop as yours digit did, it not ask me to end time lapse and create video or any of the video options. Hi Tommie, I believe you can just switch the camera off and on again to stop a time lapse. When it turns back on it will ask if you want to resume the time lapse. Also that option that pops up asking to create a video after the timelapse will apparently only come up if your camera is in 60hz mode (system frequency) it will not work on 24hz cinema. I hope that helped :)

If you go to view your footage/shots using the 'play' button, is there any option there to create the video? If not, you may have to do it in post using editing software to create all of the photos into a video. For this you can use Adobe After Effects but there is probably other software that can do it in also. Hope that helped :)

    • @thatsaloadofcrap
      @thatsaloadofcrap Před 8 lety

      +thatsaloadofcrap So, thinking about using Apple Compressor vs. using the in-Camera video by the GH4, what I'd like some to test/answer is what are the pros and cons. Seems like Compressor would give you much more control over the output. But, obviously, the in-camera is quick and effortless.
      I think this is a good question for the entire GH4 community. Let me if I'm off base.

    • @MichaelRoninTV
      @MichaelRoninTV Před 8 lety +1

      thatsaloadofcrap The in-camera timelapse feature is very convenient but as you say, there is much more control doing it after in different software. I used to just do all of mine in-camera but now this is my flow for timelapses:
      1. Import my images to the computer
      2. Import those images to LRTimelapse
      3. Use Lightroom to grade/edit them
      4. Export back to LRTimelapse
      5. Create video
      It's not the easiest process but the results are amazing. I may do a video on this process eventually to explain it in detail but yes in short, doing your timelapses manually using software usually does produce much better results :)

    • @thatsaloadofcrap
      @thatsaloadofcrap Před 8 lety

      +Ronin Media
      There's probably a dozen different ways, tools. Depends whether you're a "photo guy" who does video or "video guy" who uses photos.... I use both LR and FCPX (w/Compressor)... depends on your workflow. The video on Compressor just seems like it gives you more control, plus what are you going to do w/that Time-lapse? ...probably use it as a clip in FCPX (or whatever movie editor you use).

    • @MichaelRoninTV
      @MichaelRoninTV Před 8 lety

      thatsaloadofcrap
      Yes exactly right, there are heaps of different ways of doing it. I use Premiere for editing and sometimes all I do is colour correct the timelapse using that but I just find Lightroom to have many more options for editing. LRTimelapse is expensive software (Free for under 200 photos) but it does a great job of removing any flicker and creating a smoother timelapse overall. Each to their own and as you said there is a lot of different methods and tools of doing it.
