- It's been months since I had last been to Lark Spur Line train store in Merrickville Ontario and I got the chance to go there yesterday. I was pretty excited since there were a few items I had seen in a previous visit that I wanted to pick up. I ended up getting a couple locomotives and a whole bunch of passenger cars. Pretty pleased!

They are also my local hobby shop last time I was there I got a bowser k4 and my did some basic maintenance on my custom polar Express

I have that Spirit of 76 steam engine and 3 matching cars. I got the set for Christmas in 1976. I wanted that set soooo bad, but I thought it cost too much and I probably wouldn’t get. Well, as I said I did it get, plus an orange trolley. I still have them and they still run. Seeing you run it, put a huge smile on my face!

Hey SMT! Great to hear that you were able to visit your local model railroad store! In my home state of New Jersey, quarantine is opening up next week, and my local hobby store should be opening up again! Can’t wait to grab some more terrain supplies for my railroad extension. Anyway, great video as always!
Smt there's a train store I haven't went to in a long time due to finances but the last time I was there I bought a Broadway limited SD40-2 Dcc sound!

I just bought a bachmann smoking locomotive at my train store's "Grand Re-Opening"!
For clarification on the unpainted Life Like:
It appears to be a GP38 (whether it's a dash 1 or dash 2 is hard to tell), note the paper filter box before the dynamic housing and after the vents behind the cab, and two fans on the rear hood instead of 3. 10 bucks has to be pretty good for something like that. Just give it a rear coupler and it'll be good to go.

In fact, the german wagons do match (except of the Touropa-Car and the grey-blue car in experimental "popcolors"). In the 70s trains often ran with two paint scheme epoches mixed. And yes, all of them are german. Four middle entry cars, one express train car and one couchette of the Touropa tourism company.

The white locomotive is a Life-Like GP38-2 in an undecorated locomotive. It would be interesting to see if it had ever been painted (looking for paint remnants) and stripped or it actually was sold from the factory in an undecorated condition. This locomotive can be a future paint project if desired.
I am so amazed, those trains are so awesome! I am from the netherlands, and i have a favourite shop too. I have Dutch model trains and locomotives, but I like these trains also very much. I liked and subscribed!

another great video! loved the European passenger cars the most, they have a unique style to them and look great behind the swiss steam locomotive. can't wait to see what you decide to do with the white locomotive, when i first saw it, i thought it might've been a glow-in-the-dark style one (which would be kinda neat to see running around the layout)

I never had many problems with lifelike nscale I had years ago. They were noisey, but good. Nice hobby shop!

Lucky man you are. You get to go to an open train store. The weird loco you saw was a LifeLike GP38-2. Most likely an unpainted Santa Fe. I have one myself.

04:45 Wow, didn’t expect to see a Swedish state railroad model…I think I have seen that model working at Gävle Järnvägsmuseum (Swedish Railway Museum)… For rolling stock I think Lima and Roco makes Swedish/Scandinavian models. Anyway, if you want a tip for a interesting train themed movie featuring CN check out “Festival Express 1970”.
That white locomotive is an undecorated and un-numbered loco, made so you can do your own paint.

Yep that is a Life Like white locomotive. Got it too at a flea market, didnt run though
That white loco looks like it might have a 3-D printed shell, as usually un-decorated locos are black.
If you ever find yourself in London Ontario you should check out Broughdale hobbies. They sell North America and British model trains.

you should do a custom paint job to the unpainted locomotive so maybe something like a canadiana or a tyco 76 just as a surgesstion.
That white gp38 should be a L&n loco or a Soo since the shell is in white already

I gotta get to my local hobby store , thing is here where i live in connecticut wearing a bandanna or a mask in a non air condition store because of the ventilation fears i wouldnt want that experience. I think you should have gone for the rolling stock. Just to make the livestreams more interesting then they already are. Imagine seeing more VIA on the livestreams. I dont know. Great video regardless.

Amazing video, been watching them for some time right now, and I got into the trains ya find, i saw they are simple to repair and work if and they looking very detailed for such simple locomotives, I wish în the near future to get my self a few, if even manage to find a second-hand set with rails, and when I got problems with them maybie I could ask you for some help. The set I got right now its too compiiacted to repair, and only one locomotive works works from all 5.But amazing video :D
