    get every pad you possibly can get a helmet with MIPS for real get a helmet with MIPS never get on a board without a helmet
    thank you so much for the person that posted this video and anyone that is passing on knowledge about how to keep yourselves from being hurt when you fall cuz skateboarders fall can I get and amen? skateboarders fall 47 years old have been skating since I was 4.. I've never been like a ripper... 😁 I mean I can still ride a half pipe that's you know maybe 10 ft tall depending on the vert but who cares This is about electric skateboarding and here's my only advice I said the MIPS helmet.,. next.. full leather gloves ALL the time... cut a little hole out of the thumb or finger or whatever part it is that may help you to be in perfect control of your remote
    that is I think 100% absolutely the most important thing is being in full perfect expert control of your remote at all times
    after that check your equipment
    ..every screw bolt & nut.. and just make sure nothing's going to fall apart and kill you... pre flight check... every time no exceptions
    think about every carve you lean into ...what if things blew up at the worst moment ? you'd be slamming into a parking meter or an immoveable(sp?) object and how much trust we put in these boards...
    advice number three
    Motocross pads across the board
    tip of the top of your skull to the tip of every toe...motocross pads - football pads & hockey pads who cares whatever you need to cover all of your vulnerable places when you fall, slam into something, get across the concrete, slammed into a curb, n every freaking exposed spot get pads.
    if anyone's ever separated your shoulder knows covering that gap between your scapula clavicle and your shoulder that needs to be covered up.. everyone... that's super vulnerable super common place to enter yourself and usually is your first impact point... You're falling right and you have enough time to react...it is your shoulder
    If you know what you doing you have enough time you know how to fall you know you're tucking and rolling you know you're turning that head talking to your chest putting your shoulder down and you're trying to roll to help keep your speed going forward and not be dealing with sudden stops from falls
    shoulder pads shoulder pads shoulder pads and then peeps if if you are not wearing a really good spine protector that protects against hyperextension and you're wearing a big old backpack with a bunch stuffing it that's just hanging out in a big bulge around your lower back area and you fall that's going to make things worse yl
    yeah sure stuff in your backpack might protect you from road rash but just wear a motocross shoulder pads chest protectors spine protector s ..shirt or vest so that you're given extra support to make sure your body doesn't bend the wrong direction when you fall on it . don't give it more obstacles or things that it can fall on that are actually attached to the very place that you don't want to be bending in the wrong direction
    Don't run around with that stuck to those sensitive places.... just thought
    and also never go out on your board without a helmet
    never get on your board without every single one of the pads You own and every time you fall and there is then NO bloody road rash, broken bones, whatever it is and you don't die... then that's a gift !
    fill in the gaps with pads What's the next time those places don't get hurt
    skateboarders fall, skateboarders fall skateboarders fall.... I hate putting my pads on every single one from my knee pads to my shin guards to my full-on chest it's fine shoulder protector Motocross shirt my elbow pads my full leathered gloves that cover every inch of my hand in leather and then put my wrist guards over them I hate them all when I put them on but moment I step on the board and know i got 50 to 60 miles before I even need to worry about turning around to go home I never thinking about em again until I'm taking em off
    Sorry for being a rambling old man but pads pads pads and more pads find the the weak points in your pad regimen and fill them up and also as fast as you possibly can .
    & if you really love electric skateboarding then save up till you can afford a board with inflatable tires and then after that get yourself a board with channel trucks a battery that's so big you never even think about the battery dying
    the nose and tip are angled for the channel trucks and all the sudden you're on a magic carpet
    You just look where you want to go and you're there
    and then the hardest part of probably the most stupid ridiculous part but the greatest part it will turn you into a new vampire but start going out at 2:00 a.m. coming back with the sun comes up.., when there are no cars around you are truly free and you are much much much much much much safer but probably gonna be real tired If You do some vampire rides 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. on the weekends 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. or 4:00 a.m. on the weeknights You're going to be tired but my god you're going to realize some beauty that you didn't realize or don't have the opportunity to recognize enough when it's just you in the streets and no one else.
    Sorry I get passionate and just want everyone to be safe but also have so much fun This sport is so fun! I guess in short I could have just said wear every pad you possibly can and ride at night

    A couple veteran tips. Start rocking motocross jerseys over your armor jacket. I've fallen twice at high speed and the jersey saved the delicate fabric on the jacket from tearing. Plus it looks cool lol. I ended up shredding a couple 40 dollar jerseys instead of ruining a 180 dollar armored jacket. Flatland3d gloves are great...use them all the time, above 55 degrees. If it's colder outside I use full finger gloves eoth the thumb cut off of the right hand for the remote. Works great. I recommend "Inbike". They have a great full finger glove that i use when it's cold, and it has the hard plastic slider in the palm that doesn't get in the way of the remote. The plastic protection ok the palm is important to me as it saved my palms twice and allowed me to execute my skide perfectly without worrying about a leather palm catching on the slide and messing up my fall.

    I have the Bell MX-9 helmet with mips. Then I have the same Fox Titan jacket but I wear a jersey over mine so it doesn't get ruined by a fall. For my impact shorts I have the Alpinestars bionic freeride shorts. I was going to go with the Leatt like you have but the Alpinestars are made more for landing on asphalt, the Leatt are made more for motocross and mtb. Then for my knee pads I switch between the Fox launch pro D30 and the Leatt dual axis. If I'm riding at slower speeds not above 15mph I ditch the jacket and just rock the Fox launch pro D30 elbow pads and a padded compression tshirt.

    Great kit, I have a similar set I use for mountain biking that I use for Eskate. Have the same IXS trigger, Leatt impact shorts, different are Alpinestars bionic jacket, POC knee pad, 1Protect gloves (removable puck so can be used for both Eskate and biking), TSG riot socks (Ankle and shin protector) so I don't have to wear high top shoes.

    Awesome video my dude. I took a really bad spill a month ago due to people getting in my way last minute and me trying to avoid them and I fractured two ribs. I’m a large guy so the extra weight crushed them lol. I’m going to invest in something like that protector. I need something for my ribs and back. Thanks for this. I subbed.

      I ate pavement too, recently got road rash on my left palm, right knee, right elbow and bruised the right side of my torso. But what took most of the damage was the speaker I was carrying. If I hadn’t landed on it it would have been worse.

    Dude, that was a nice video. I gave you a like before the first minute. I broke two bones after one week of 8kting. This is a very dangerous hobby, it is accelerating and super fun but dangerous. I'm going for that jacket that protects your back and those kneepads. keep those videos coming...

    I'm looking to get an e skateboard for commuting to work, it's only around 2 miles and of course a helmet and gloves are a must but would you say it's needed to get the jacket on here as well or would that be overkill

    • @ELECTRIC-DNA
      @ELECTRIC-DNA  Před rokem

      It’s a personal choice for sure. I base what gear I’m going to wear mostly on what speeds I’m going to be traveling. If you’re able to keep the speeds slower then in my opinion you can skip the jacket. It also comes down to skill level, terrain, traffic etc. But yes, always helmet, gloves, shoes at a bare minimum for me.

    • @SubaruWRC1996
      @SubaruWRC1996 Před rokem

      I'll probably look at getting some knee pads and elbow pads at least as well as looking at something like the Evolve hadean or something like that where I can hit 25 to 30 mph as I don't want something too slow as I think it will be boring and I like to be able to keep up with traffic.

    Have you actually fallen and then slid in the Fox Armor? I was under the impression that the body armor was meant for offroading/dirtbiking and focuses on more on impact protection than abrasion/sliding. Hard plastic seems like it will slide but it also feels like one of those things where reality is different than instinct.

    Dallas excellent video, I am a motorcycle rider too and sometimes I will wear my motorcycle air jacket instead for protection (I also have a blade 10gt plus that I wear this with too since it reaches 55mph) and I use slide gloves when longboarding which IMO is better than the flatland gloves which are poorly made.

    • @ELECTRIC-DNA
      @ELECTRIC-DNA  Před rokem

      Motorcycle gear is a great place to find gear that will work for our sport. Slide gloves are a great choice too, I’d love to find some with wrist protection. The flatland gloves leave a lot to be desired. Thanks for watching.

    Have you ever injured your fingers from wearing fingerless gloves instead of full fingered ones?

    • @ELECTRIC-DNA
      @ELECTRIC-DNA  Před 8 měsíci

      Yes. A trade off for maneuverability. If I lived in a colder climate I’d be more willing to do full finger all the time. I now typically wear a full finger glove on my non remote hand with a slide puck as I’ve gotten more into track riding and sliding corners though.
