    hi, i have a question. Have an HS-6 myself and the same problem. Just want to know where can I measure the 15 volts exactly? Then I can find out for myself what is broken with me.

    Good job so far, and even though I can't play worth a damn, I've always had a soft spot for the sound of 80's synth keyboards.

    Wasn't really supposed to take 4 hours, but difficult to repair over the Interwebz. :p
    Of course, we should have just checked for sound output from the Aux ports once the -/+ 15V rails were running again too, but got carried away doing other checks when the amps still weren't working. lol
    Should be a case of replacing the big amp chip now to get the internal speakers working.

      Yup, long way around lol. Found a second key issue, the bottom c on the lower keyboard is on permanent full touch pressure so another, probably switch clean thingy to do lol

    Hi, I have a HS 8 and I'm wondering how did you achieve to remove the keyboard? I have removed some screws, but I think it wasn't necessary to do it. I'm thinking giving up :-(

    • @jmemusic
      @jmemusic Před 7 lety

      Never mind. I did lots of unnecessary things like removing the top assembly from the pedals.
      At the end, I just realized that you only have to remove 5 screws on the bottom of the top assembly. That easy. I lost almost a day :-(

    I bought a HS6 for AU$100, good order, but no sound on arrival, anyhow I removed the pedal the pot does not change resistance, I can hear the power up relay clicking, sounds like a overload working, any thoughts? Thank you for your help via the video.

  • @robertgoldsteen604
    @robertgoldsteen604 Před 2 lety

    The 2 x 1w resistors next to the little coils show about 1 volt, the amps get warm including the bridge, the relay keeps clicking but no sound, any clues? I am getting a HS8 next week so I will be able to compare the voltages of a good one. On the HS6 front panel everything seems to be working, I pulled the pedal and checked the pot resistance, seems OK, even the 200$ to get it here is worth the spare parts IMO. Thank you for your insight, you have been a great help. PS the HS8 is coming with 3 disc drives a bunch of RAM packs and discs if you need any, postage from Australia is OK for small stuiff

    I have Yamaha Electone organ, model EL60, when power on the unit, LCD backlight is on, but blank screen, all other LEDs button don't light up, what could it be? Checked all the internal fuses are ok.

      @@sheygarcia7445 No one knows how to fix this, Yamaha does not have tech support for the Electone organ but keyboards. The only service man who used to work for Yamaha have no clue, I have electronic background and troubleshooted with him, didn't help....so, the only solution is TRASH.

      +tokoa metua Same. Had one with a broken switch. That shorted and blew the fuse. Replaced those two and still no sound. I've heard of the light in the pedal going. My main board doesn't seem to have power. I'll have to check the bridge rectifier also. Conn 271. Still has a seven page spread schematic. It's glorious.
      If I watched this properly, you mean those diodes were the only thing that went?

    • @RetroGamerVX
      @RetroGamerVX  Před 9 lety

    Hi, thanks for the great video. My HS4 has no sound through speakers or headphones, but it all lights up. How do I test the amplifier? I've identified it but can't find a neutral or ground in it to test voltage. It's fuse is ok.

    Hi. I finished watching all three video. My Mom has a HS-5 YAMAHA ELECTONE. I will cut to the chase. First it had no power. I found out that the fuse was blown so I replaced it. Now tha it has power, the sound does not work. I watched your video but wasnt quite sure what was wrong why it was no producing sound at first? Was it the Power Amplifier chip or the two chips that you replaced (not sure what they are called capacitors?) please help. thank you.
