I have only ever seen one episode of Skins and that is the one where it is Cook's birthday. I saw it when it was shown on telly and it made my blood boil that much I never watched another episode. I have watched that episode again tonight on I player because I was bored and couldn't find anything to watch. It made me cringe more than the first time I saw it. All the comments here are positive about him. Is it really possible to get to like that character by watching more episodes? I couldn't stomach another episode. I never want to see that annoying twat ever again as long as I live!

Johnny Jabsco once you get to know his story you start to like him. i hates him for the first few episodes but he’s now my favourite character. give it a go

That is true. But I still liked it. As the show progressed on you can clearly see that he genuinely cared for Naomi and was happy to have her as a friend, despite her sexuality and her refusal to have sex with him.
in my eyes... he's the greatest character of all skins. he may seem the type of person that lives life hard and not aware of the consequences his actions caused... but he will fight for his friends until the end and beyond. because he can be the one that will cross the line when no one else can, becausd he can make the sacrifices that will give the ones around him the chance they need for correcting their mistakes, because he can sacrifice his own happiness for the happiness of the people he loves, because like Effy said... he's brave... because he saw it... he really saw it... it got under his skin and lived inside him, and there is nothing he could do... but it's good, it's a good thing, because he Rised Up, because he's Cook.... FUCKING COOK. and that's all I got to say.

There's one thing I really admire about Cook's character is that he always called people out on their lies and bullshit. Even in front of everyone. He didn't allow anything shady to go on around him and that's what makes his character so unique.

At first, I thought he was just an unlikeable, shitty replacement for Chris. But in the end, I think his character development was the best and most realistic, much more than Tony's. They managed to do a redemption arc that was his entire story (as opposed to "gets hit by a bus, forgets how to do stuff and gets nice"). His episodes in season 7 were by far the best ones, although I do wish there had been some reference to Freddie. Also wtf Skins, get your shit together, we need a Cook spinoff!
I think him and Chris would have been good friends you know! I feel bad for JJ with both his best of friends Cook and Freddie disappearing just as he gets his own issues together that must have been a big blow for him and Cook would know that whilst on the run Aswel

The progression of Cook from immature playboy to defending the lives of two women against a psychopath has to be one of the best character developments I've ever seen.

The most iconic Skins character ever, I fell so hard for him. Skins Rise was brilliant, would have loved to see his opening or closing monologue here.

No one actually understands how important this show is to me. Every morning night and day I’m watching it. I’m obsessed lol
Cook was a complex character and highly misunderstood. His exterior most definitely did not convey his interior. He craved attention and adrenaline to fill a void inside of him. Sex, alcohol,drugs, violence. Nothing would satisfy him. Everything involved in his life was temporary. He deserved so much. A sensitive soul but years of rejection formed a barrier, he feared vulnerability. Cooks character was so emotionally involved in hiding his true colours. He was convincing, intriguing, witty and brave. I love everything about Cook.
