In this clip, Teflon Sean detailed seeing a man get shot in the head with a shotgun at close range and how that moment is etched in his memory. Teflon spoke about getting in trouble with the law as he got deeper in the streets adding that he never went to high school in order to focus on selling drugs. DC was a vicious place to grow up in during the early 1980’s thru the mid 90’s. As a young dude coming down from NYC (Harlem & South Bronx bred) to SW DC, I had to adjust quickly to the culture of DC which was nothing like New York City! The hate dudes from DC had towards New Yorkers in particular was real! The music (gogo) the slang & accent (bamma, thrull , aka thorough, ciced up, redbone, etc.. was something unique to the DMV only. The folks who lived there or visited from other major cities know that DC cats were different breeds! Even though the NY/DC cultures clash like oil and water, there’s a respect level that eventually gets had between real niggas from any hood. DC and Baltimore is a half hour away from each other but those two cities are night and day too and both equally dangerous! In my life travels I found that DC & LA cats connect best. B’More and Chicago share very similar cultures with the street life and house music culture, and lastly, New York/Philly & New Jersey cultures were most alike with hip hop music and fashion! DC in the 80’s was known for having the baddest females on the east coast! As fine as they come! Shout out to all my DC cats here who remember partying at East Side, The Black Hole, Panorama Room, Ibex, Cherry’s, Classics, Metro Club & The Howard Theatre! I visited a friend of mine who lived in Barry Farms one night. I was prepared, but everything stopped when I parked and got out of my car. I think the only thing that made everyone pause was that they thought I was a cop because after I concluded my visit, I was able to walk back to my car and drive away. That was my last visit to Barry Farms, period.

back when DC was at about 500 murders a year (which is crazy for a small size city), I wouldnt even had said Montana Terrace I almost forgot about Montana, brentwood, 4th st area I didn't live near there aand there were so many other well known strips . The whole uptown pretty much, 7th and R, P street, 5th and O, 640, LDP, hobart, 14th and clifton, sursum corda,...then trinidad, clay terrace, minnesota/benning road,....SW side was all crazy greenleaf, syphax, arthur capers, then pretty much the entire southeast, Eastgate, east capitol, simple city, 37th and minnesota, Barry farms of course, mellon st, drake place, river terrace, shipley terrace, potomac gardens on capitol hill god damn DC was such a crazy violent place back then....
a lot of it has been cleaned up cuz of so much gentrification but its still rough in some spots. if your lookin for trouble u will still find it.
