Most people have no idea how or why they set or move the line. It has nothing to do with the two teams who are playing, and everything to do with who the big money players are betting on.

Sometimes I wish there was a deeper football analysis in these discussions. The way I see it, Bengals like to play a lot of man coverage and only rush 4 against the Chiefs. Without Tyreek, they'll basically bracket Kelce on every down which means no one will be open. Mahomes' only option is to scramble which he can't really do now. I think the bettors are seeing the same scenario and betting against the Chiefs.
Only way to beat that style of defense is to run the ball consistently. Pacheco is gonna have to have a HUGE game for the Chiefs to win.

Bengals fan here. It moved because of Mahomes injury. I want the Bengals to be the underdog. That's their role and they have been very successful in that role. I was very scared about the Buffalo game but I never felt more confident about the Bengals than I did AFTER the Buffalo game.

The national audience/bettors dictate the betting line. Cincy is FINALLY starting to get the positive press it has deserved SINCE LAST YEAR. Remember last year? The year the Bengals supposedly "just got lucky?" Remember their preseason ranking this year? Remember how the back half of Cincy's schedule this year effectively had them facing murderer's row, and they ended up beating ALL OF THEM? Had Burrow not been dealing with that horrific ruptured appendix in the preseason, the Bengals very likely would have only lost ONE GAME this season. That is the team we see now. Not a single player on the team is considered the best in the league at their position. They lost their shut down corner and 3 starting OLs for the season due to injury and are still here. Chase, Reader, Mixon, Hendrickson, and a bevy of others have been out with injuries for multiple weeks. It doesn't matter. They are still dominating...AND getting better. @@christiangraff5236 and you act like average running backs haven't had good games in the past against teams that were "great" in the run defense. any given Sunday is a saying for a reason. i have seen rb's that normally average less than 50 yards a game drop 100+ against a defense they had no business doing it to. You see it happen to great defenses that are good at stopping the pass. average qb's end up just having a good day. it's a combination of the OC and player finding a weakness in the D-Line. i.e maybe the left side is weaker than the right side, so attack the left side. i'm gonna assume Pacheco is gonna grind hard because he knows he has to with Mahomes not being able to scramble as much now

Speaking from experience, high ankle sprains really hurt, they take forever to heal, and it’s very easy to re-sprain the ankle. In reality, the ankle never truly heals 100%. Personally, I’ve would have preferred a fracture over a severe sprain. So I don’t know how realistic it is that he will be able to play even close to 100%, and god help him he sprains it again on Sunday

I hate agreeing with skip in any circumstances, but the KC -2.5 or -3.0 line was actually an early line set before the CIN-BUF game had even ended. After that game, the line was KC -2.0 or -1.5. So it's actually a combination of both. I think Cincy's drubbing of Buffalo got them about a point and the injury did the rest. I don't quite understand why Cincy wasn't getting more credit before the Mahomes injury though, considering KC hasn't beat them the last 3 times with a 100% healthy Mahomes including last year in the playoffs in KC. I think Cincy can get through this game, but if they don't get one or two of the o-line back, they are going to struggle against SF or Philly with those pass rushes. Burrow could be robbed of yet another SB thanks to his o-line, but at least this time it is more of a fluke due to injuries.

A healthy Bengals oline still ain't as great as a healthy Mahomes. Even when the Bengals oline is healthy Burrow is still getting beat up. Part of what makes Mahomes great is his mobility. Without that he's just a pocket QB which means he's good but not great. Advantage to Bengals big time.

Moving without a boot and a brace works in practice, not running plays with D linemen running you down.

My last high ankle sprain took almost two months to get back to painless and healthy. And I wasn't running around for hours avoiding a killer pass rush, I was just walking.
I rolled my ankle hard doing aerobic exercises when I was 33, it took six weeks before I had solid strength in my lateral movement.

Given an opportunity, other than Cincy, no GM is picking Burrow over Mahomes if they are starting a franchise. All three games have been decided by 3 points I believe. We'll see how Mahomes' ankle holds up and see what shakes out.
And not to mention Burrow has had a better run game behind him, and a better receiving core than Mahomes all three games. Bengals also have a much better defense than the Chiefs. How people try to act like Burrow is better because the head to head record is insane.
