He came out later and said that scouts wanted to see him as a PG more, that’s why he transferred. Thriving now looks like.

Payton Pritchard is a good comparison... Whoever thought Fredette was a comp needs his assessment card pulled... His competitive spirit just oozes off the screen.. Go Get Em' Matty!!
to me Fredette and Pritchard don't have much in common with Mac other than them being smallish white guards - PP is an average NBA athlete and true point guard that looks to pass first and Fredette is a deep shooter with limited athleticism that couldn't defend NBA players. McClung's an elite college athlete who will be an above average to elite NBA athlete, and that right there puts him on a different level of potential than either of those other two guys.
most of us have a hard time separating players' games from the way they look, so McClung is gonna get compared to every undersized white dude people can think of, but if you watch him play, he's different athletically and style-wise than pretty much every other white guard prospect we've seen in the last 30 years. Nobody, not Donte DiVicenzo, Grayson Allen, Bob Sura, etc has had quite the same overall package of quick twitch explosiveness, strength, body control, and killer mentality this guy has. He plays more like guys like Steve Francis, Monta Ellis, or a poor man's Westbrook.

Going to Texas Tech was just what Mac needed. I don't believe he will be an NBA star. I do believe he will make it there and be an asset however.

I don't know about that. I look at him and think he could if he had a good number 1 to work with. Like John Stockton had with the mailman. Or he straight up grinds and comes out like a Steve Kerr.
